The final day of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival found Kid Rock playing to a crowd that seemed to appreciate the various sides of his personality. Kid Rock Cruise Nears End, But Not Before More Revelry

on Sun, 04/10/2011 - 7:49pm

The impressive endurance of Kid Rock cruisers has been in full effect again this this afternoon, on the final full day before the boat returns to New Orleans early in the morning.

Just like the past three days, the center of the action is on the 9th floor Lido Deck, where the New Orleans band Big Sam's Funky Nation just laid down one of the cruise's best musical performances — a sweat-soaked, horn-drenched set of rock-inflected funk that had fans dancing for more than an hour.

Kid Rock Cruise: Rocker, Fans Port In Cozumel

on Sun, 04/10/2011 - 3:29pm

As Sunday morning emerged under glorious blue skies, day four of Kid Rock's cruise promised a final stretch of drinks and tunes as reality set in for cruisers: This was almost it.

Saturday had been a busy day for Rock. With most cruisers dispersing into Cozumel to check out local attractions, Rock took the opportunity to grab some friends and staff members for a trip to Passion Isla, a gorgeous little island hangout several miles out in the Caribbean Sea.

on Sun, 04/10/2011 - 10:59am

By the time Kid Rock's fan cruise hit Mexico on Saturday, two days after departing New Orleans, the faces on board had become familiar, the rhythms easy, the rock-party energy stuck in high gear.

And one overriding message was now clear on this journey, Rock's second Chillin’ the Most Cruise: The Detroit star has created one heck of a fan family for himself.

After chugging across the Gulf of Mexico from New Orleans, Rock and his 2,700 cruisers pulled into Cozumel, Mexico, just after daybreak Saturday on the Carnival Triumph.

Many roused themselves out of quick early morning naps to

Kid Rock Cruise Update: Belly Flop Contest Winner Says: 'Go Hard Or Go Home'

on Sat, 04/09/2011 - 10:54am

Friday on the Kid Rock cruise was like a day at spring break.

Under gorgeous blue skies somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico, the Lido Deck on the 9th floor of the Carnival Triumph quickly transformed into the day’s hot spot, as fans amassed to sunbathe, splash around the pool and – as early as noon -- start working the beer bongs to cheering onlookers.

Carving out a spot wasn’t always the easiest task on the crowded, winding deck.

Looking on from a balcony overhead were Rock and his pal Rev. Run, applauding the dozen or so brave fans who’d signed on for a belly-flop diving contest.
