I'm so blown away !! Had a chance to talk to him for a few.. and I know he wants to be acknowledged by his own craft and not from his daddy's name... but I can't help compare his beautiful voice and vibrato that sounds 'oh so' familiar. There's nobody who can fill Willie's shoes.. and certainly nobody who will fill this guy's shoes and future.
The first movie that my mom had taken me to was 'Honeysuckle Rose', and I was probably only about 6-8 years old. Instant Willie fan from that and the loads of vinyl dad brought home from his truck driving days of the outlaw greats. Now.. all about 30 years later we get to capture this young man keeping the music in the family rollin along... I'm so impressed !!! Dude is awesome.. makes me feel so alive ; )
10 years ago... Geno had taken me to our first ever Willie Nelson show at home... Willie was great. When we left to walk to our car... we noticed his bus was pulled up in a back alley way with a nice line of ppl by his bus. We walked over and got in line.. which led us to getting a chance to go inside his bus and talk with him for a few. I was so sweet on him.. giddy... told him my parents had pleasantly pushed his music on me as a kid and fell him love with it. He then asked me to give him a kiss on the cheek and told me to sit down on his leather couch on the bus. I remember getting a picture with him that night... would you believe I have the same shit eating grin on my face that I have on my face with his son now... some 10 years later. Very honored to have met them... both very inspirational to me in different ways. Wishing Lukas the very best in this music business... in talking to him... he was just as tender as his daddy to me.. and I'm such a shy broad at times.. and so it really helped for me to feel comfy around him. God Bless this family!!! And thank you Kid Rock for bringing him on board... what talent.. he rocks!!
