When music legends both young(ish) and very old gather together, you know you’ll be in for a good show.

HBO’s “2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony,” airing tomorrow night at 9, is a perfect example of that. Here are five of our favorite inductee tributes and performances from the show:

    1. Beastie Boys medley, performed by Kid Rock, Travie McCoy, the Roots

Decked out in old-school, green Adidas track suits, Rock, McCoy and the Roots put on a rip-roaring, medley of the Beastie Boys’ most recognizable hits “No Sleep Till Brooklyn,” “So What’cha Want,” “Sabotage” and “The New Style.” Beastie collaborator Mix Master Mike represented the group onstage, too. (The Beasties themselves didn’t perform because Adam Yauch, who is battling cancer couldn’t make it to the ceremony.)

Wish I could watch it, no HBO. Sad to hear the news of Adam Yauch passing.

I just saw the news and my heart broke for all. Rest in peace, dear Adam Yauch. You touched so many. May we all be comforted believing in the beauty, faithfulness, and joy you now share with our Source of Love. I pray also specifically for you, Mr. Ritchie, and your strong and tender heart for the bittersweet reminder that life is short and one must reap "the promise of life joys still in store." I am sorry for your sorrow at Mr. Yauch's passing. Have faith in your journey. He hears your soul, too, and goes before you to smoothe your path because He loves you and believes in you. This I know.

Oh, wish I could see it, but focussing today on what I have, not what I don't. Better use of my energy. I am staying in Florence throughout the weekend because I feel safe here. Heading to Stevi to pick up things including baking items just in case my hope and faith have any magic left in them. Growth and change can sometimes knock the breath from me until I choose to trust where I am being led. Slim margin, but He renewed my faith, partly from the bridge of my song "Prince" I wrote for you (before I learned you were the Prince of Detroit) - "But my heart seems to know just where to go. You brought me to this. I trust You to lead me through it. My soul feels dead. But with Your grace and love, I know I'll find hope once again." Happy Friday, my Beloved.
