    Momma Rock Responds!

This was sent to me by my Mom this morning, Thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share.

    Hi Bob,
Been thinking a lot about you out on the road in this unbelievable weather. Cudos to you for your response to those whinning about not being able to make it.You wouldn't have won if you cancelled. I remembered this morning while I was excercising and listening to Mr. Cash on my Ipod about the time Dad and I went to see George Jones and Tammy Wynette at Meadowbrook. It was late Sept. and in the 20s. We went in our hats, gloves and warm coats. The warm up act played, then Tammy and then the warm up act again. About 10pm people started to leave and as they did we kept moving up closer-never even thinking about going home (although we probably should have, because who knows what was going on there.) No show Jones finally came on about 11pm and by then we were about 3 rows back and saw one hell of a show. We went home raving about the show and always had something to talk about when George Jones was in the news. We still are fans to this day. At least he showed up-probably drunk and all. And as far as refunding the money-that's over and above the call of duty, but that shows your character and that is something I'm so proud of. Looking forward to seeing you In March.

    Love, Mom

....... And George played until 1am and Meadowbrook shut the lights down!!!!

This is awesome! Your true fans Love you!! I. Am so excited about coming to see you & TBT in Greensboro!!! Safe travels to all your shows! A true fan from NC!

Love your Mom's note to you. I printed your response to the fans that were whining and plan to use it as an example of how a person can be bigger than any problem or obstacle when they rely on their character and remain true to their core. That is an example of a real MBA at work - Mega Bank Account - which allows you to say F-You to the naysayers! I am a public speaker and business leaders could learn a lot from you. I look forward to interviewing you on my radio program so you can share some of your straight from the gut business strategies that serve you well! Cheers - Sheila Stewart

Love her sense of humor... "should have went home because no telling what was going on there."

ROCK ON MOMMA ROCK! That is so awesome! I can't believe some of the crap people are saying about you Kid; they obviously don't know enough about you! I think you're a true artist in every sense of the word! Not only a great singer/songwriter but a good person with a huge Awesome Heart! I can't wait to see you either in March since I live in South Florida. I am behind you 200% Bobby - way to stand up for yourself and your fans!! Safe travels and lots of love from Kat! See you in March - where I can guarantee there won't be any snow or ice!!!!

Perfect! I knew you must have people close to you that love and care for you very much. We're blessed to have families who care and support us when we're faced with challenges. Hmmm? I'm not big on halmark holidays, as we need to share our love every day, but maybe Mom would like a Valentine? Just a thought..... You did go above and beyond, and does demonstrate your integrity. You're leading by example! I recommend giving Mom a huge hug next time you see her, that way you get one too. ;)

Your mom is absolutely correct. No one else would refund for the weather. Just shows you how dedicated you are to your fans. Those who are dedicated to you would totally understand. It was a good thing you did. That's what kinda heart you have. Have a safe rest of your tour. Do me a favor, next time you go on tour...beg Pat M from upstaging to drive for you again :) Thanks to the crew for my shirt last time I saw you when Pat was here.

Nothing is better than a good message from Mom saying how proud she is of you and a phone call from a good son to just says thanks and I love you. I have a son who is a only child that makes me proud everyday, he has grown into a great young man with good values so I know how your Mom feels. I am sure she worries about you out on tour in this weather, your a great man to do what you didn't have to do for the ungreatful so called fans. Keep making your Mom proud and the true fans some great music. Can't wait to see you in Thackersville, OK. bringing my son and daughter-inlaw with me.

Mom's ROCK! I am one! LOL You couldn't win either way on this deal......someone would of been mad either way! Like we can control the WEATHER! Dummies!

Having had an event cancelled in DC just last night, I can tell you that Momma Rock is right... you can't win when trying to please a mass of people, but I applaude you for TRYING and for struggling with the decision as to whether to let the show "go on" or to cancel. Trust me, IF you cancelled and did NOT (or were unable) to reschedule, those who did make it out for the show would be stringing you up by your boots IF you were a "no show." To have a show cancelled with no reschedule date (and yes I know you guys work on tight schedules and around the venue schedules) but to cancel a show with NO reschedule date, well (deep subject) that makes us, the fans, feel worthless. BUT when circumstances out of your control hit, and you, the musician, make every attempt to "try" and make it right, well again (deep subject) we feel the love and will be loyal fans forever... No doubt the fans who were able to make your show felt the love, and I can tell you when in the DC or Balto area, I'll be your #1 fan, because YOU ROCK and so does your Momma!! Kudos for doing the right thing!!

A true fan would never whine and raise hell no matter what the reason being is. if it were me in that situation i would been proud to just frame the entire ticket and look forward to the next show. great story and awesome Mom...my momma always stressed the "patience is a virtue" theory and it sounds like you're mom had plenty of that on that cold night! Kudos to her from a Florida girl that can't take anything below 70...Never been to Michigan, but went to Cape May NJ this past Dec for my son's Coast Guard Graduation and just knew I was gonna end up with a nervous twitch from shaking and shivering so much....Have a whole new respect for anyone the lives above the Macon county line!!!! Hope the rest of your tour is better weather! ... Can't wait to see U ROCK Mar 9th!! ....
