    Kid Rock Named Grand Marshal Of NASCAR's Michigan Event

    Detroits own Kid Rock will serve as Grand Marshal for the LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, June 14 track officials announced today.


    His current album "Rock 'N Roll Jesus" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top-200 chart and has sold 5 million copies around the world. The Detroit native recently announced his summer tour, presented by Red Stag by Jim Beam Bourbon, which includes a weekend party in his hometown at Comerica Park, July 17th and 18th.


    Im a huge race fan, so being asked to be Grand Marshal for the Michigan race to help kick off my summer tour with Red Stag seemed like a fun way to get the word out, Kid Rock said.


    The multi-platinum recording artist will headline pre-race activities, including being recognized during driver introductions, give the famous command for drivers to start their engines and ride in the Grand Marshal car leading the field during the ceremonial parade laps. In addition, Kid Rock will join the No. 7 Jim Beam driver, Robby Gordon in the speedways fan hospitality club, Acceleration.


    The command for the LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway is set for 2:07 p.m. Sunday, June 14. The green flag is set to wave at 2:16 p.m.

'Morning Bobby!! Man, I think it's awesome that you are going to be Grand Marshall at the Lifelock 400. I was wondern' if you were gonna be there since it is in your hometown. It will be great to see ya. Of course, ANY chance to see you is great. I love NASCAR and you, so to see both of my favorites at the same time....well....that just makes me...umm...ya know. ;-) Anyway, have a great Memorial Day and thanks for everything you do to help support our troops. Hey Bobby! That's great darlin! I'm bummed I won't be able to make it but one of these days I will get my ass up there and see a show in the D or something...I agree with EmSblaurie, I would definitely like to aim for being closer friends with you. I'm very determined about it too. :) I hope you had a great time at the Red Wings games in Chicago. I know you're going to all the games right now. I have this friend who is from Detroit. I'm giving him a place to stay for a while. Lately I've been asking him where the Red Wings are each day, where they're gonna be next, etc. And I'm not even into sports much at all. LOL. Just checkin' in on ya and trying to find out where ya are. Glad you seem to be having a great time lately.
