Motown Museum is a treasure in our hometown. I wish I hadn't waited until I was "visiting" Michigan to go. Truly is a must do! I remember going to see Rod Stewart at 'Pine Knob' (still can't call it DTE), they had went to Hitsville USA that day. Rod said it was "like going to church". It really was. I cried as soon as I walked in! We had the most talented tour guide. And to stand where the legends had-chilling! Go, everyone!!

What a great picture!!! I love to see such joy on your face, Mr. Ritchie; I am very happy to see you having fun!!! And in Manhattan!?! Ah, fond memories… And what a wonderful endeavor in which to be involved – Project: Harmony – with the restoration of the historic Motown Museum grand piano by specialists at Steinway & Sons’. Steinways are precious. I love we can grow up “miles apart and here we are united in music.” And I’m so excited it is returning to Detroit…by train. When I’m in Detroit, I will go see it. “It’s history, that’s what it is.” Thank you, Mr. Ritchie, for your participation in such a beautiful celebration and for your laudable efforts, dedication, and commitment to Detroit and its rich cultural history. God bless you.

I found this, it open in April 2013 Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, Motown: The Musical will feature a book by Berry Gordy and music and lyrics from the Motown legendary catalogue. Motown: The Musical is the real story of the one-of-a-kind sound that hit the airwaves in 1959 and changed America forever. This exhilarating show charts Motown Founder Berry Gordy's incredible journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross and The Supremes, Michael Jackson and The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Marvin Gaye and many more. Motown: The Musical tells the gripping story behind the hits as Smokey finds his unique voice, Diana skyrockets to stardom and Berry fights against the odds to turn his improbable dream into a triumphant reality. The music that shattered barriers and shaped our lives finally comes to the Broadway stage in the season's most highly anticipated world-premiere event.
