Blending punk, hip-hop and Southern rock, Kid Rock put on a dazzling 105-minute performance Friday night at Rock Fest.

The singer, born as Bob Ritchie, took the stage in blue jeans, black jacket, and a top hat, as he immediately ripped through songs like "You Never Met a (expletive) Like Me" and "American Bad (expletive)." Along with the usual array of guitars and drums, his stage show featured backup singers and a saxophone player, but Kid Rock was the center of attention throughout his show, ripping through quick rap beats and rock tracks, mixing the styles seamlessly.

When Kid Rock burst into the tune "Lowlife," the video screen behind him showed a depiction of years of debauchery and drunkenness from his shows and personal life, with most of the slides being quite humorous. Halfway through the song, Kid Rock mixed in a cover of the Georgia Satellites song "Keep Your Hands To Yourself."

The stage show was impressive, with fireballs blazing from the stage and a laser light display.

Many of the songs were sexually explicit, such as "(Sex) You One More Time." Others were downright hilarious, as Kid Rock described hitting 40 in the new song "(Expletive) Forty," which is likely to be played at everyone's 40th birthday party for years to come.

oh so close to home and I could't get there. I'm still reeling from Milwaukee. You are the best, Mr. Ritchie and thanks for all you do for your fans. Love the picture, might be my next desktop pic. 105 minutes of pure entertainment, and that was a short concert. NOBODY does it better and with more heart and soul than this man, I've said it before and I will say it again, if you've never seen this man in concert, do whatever it takes to get there. You will walk away loving him more than you already do, if that is possible. Keep on keepin it real. You have my vote for entertainer of the year. I agree someone nominate him.......

Would have listened for another 105 minutes! "It's time likes these we can't replace, it's times like these we must embrace!" The Rockfest crowd did that! Thanks, you made my trip here worthwhile!
