    Detroit Mayor Dave Bing presents Kid Rock with the Edward H. McNamara Goodfellow of the Year Award honoring his Kid Rock Foundation at the 22nd Annual Goodfellows Tribute Breakfast.

    Kid Rock announced plans for a fall club tour Friday morning at the Old Newsboys Goodfellow Fund of Detroit's annual tribute breakfast, where Rock was honored as the Edward H. McNamara Goodfellow of the Year.

    He said the tour will benefit a to-be-named cultural organization in Detroit, and he hopes to raise around $1 million.

    "I want to go out as an ambassador of goodwill for Detroit and Michigan," he said, promising to name the tour's benefactor at a later date.

    In addition, Rock said he will raise money for organizations in each town he visits. He expects to donate around $25,000 in each of the 15 or so cities on the tour.

    Details are still being ironed out, but Rock expects to launch the month-long outing in the South in mid-November, wind around the country and end back in Detroit "right before Christmas." No venues have been firmed, but a date — or dates — at the Fillmore Detroit or Fox Theatre seem likely.

Can't wait to hear where and when the shows will take place...saw them 3 times this year and I want MORE!!! Esp being in smaller venues!!! Two shows were in California but I have to say, the best was Greensboro North Carolina!!! The most incredible show I've ever seen!!!

Giving Back and promoting community LOVE and Support is what its all about, KID seems to have a grasp on that. KID ROCK is one Artist who appreciates the Little Guy and with his LOVE of Music - he has the skills and friend base to help bring up locals into the industry. I picture Bobby as this home grown local kid who made a place in this World for himself through his own inspriations with Music. Way cool...Congratulations!! Glad to see Kid doing the smaller venues & donating the proceeds on this tour... hoping to get tickets! I'd like to see Kid do some of these small shows all around the state of MI though, not just Detroit.
