What do Kid Rock, Lady Gaga and the Zac Brown Band have in common? They all are on individual Red Wings players favorite playlists and available to Wings fans via the new Red Wings iPhone App.
Provided by AT&T, the Wings iPhone App allows fans to search through their favorite Red Wings players personal music playlist, sample and purchase the songs via iTunes. The Red Wings are the first professional sports team to include an integrated iTunes playlist as one of its official App features. The DRW App also includes real-time links to Red Wings news, stats, scores and schedules and provides a direct link to purchase Wings tickets.
"Fans want to know more about their favorite athletes on a personal level and you can tell a lot about a person by the music they listen to," said Steve Violetta, Red Wings Senior Vice President of Business Affairs. "The Red Wings iPhone App that allows our fans access to the playlists of several Wings including Nicklas Lidstrom, Jimmy Howard and the newest Red Wing, Mike Modano, is just one example of how we plan to bring our fans closer to the players through new technologies."
