The first day April 28th bare with me with this day because hate to tell you most of that day was a complete blur for me. I was the first one on the boat and the first to have my photo taken with Kid. That was a very special moment. Sixthman lined us up one by one as we boarded the vessel. We then walked down a hall way where on the other side of a curtain he stood. Each and every fan was able to have a personal photo taken with him. Which say's a lot about him as a person. Not too many entertainers would have taken the time to do that for each and every fan. There were 2000 fans boarding so you could only imagine how much time that took from him. He said he did it as part of a way to thank those fans for going on a cruise with him. We will be able to download the photo by Thursday at no cost.
Once everyone was checked in and on board my best friend and I ran to our cabin and changed into our suits and went out pool side (the Ledo deck) Where I had begun to drink myself into a blur. Had 3 Bloody Mary's, 2 Bud Lights and 2 Kid Rocker cocktails. All with in the first 3 hours of being on board. We set sail at 3pm and shortly afterwards Kid Rock hit center stage on the pool deck to start the cruise of with the launch party. Uncle Kracker and Kid sang together to start the day. It was one HUGE pool party. What a way to start the day.
Everyone party all night long. The fans, the bands, and Kid Rock. Needless to say most all of us were drunk off our ass by mid evening. Sixthman knows how to throw a party. They entertained us with so much to do and see and listen too threw out the cruise. They really hooked every one up. Kid bought a round for everyone on board a shot of Jim Beam. By late evening early morning people were stumbling into elevator's, hallways, and staircases to crawl into their cabins. Oh I left an important part out that became the theme of the rest of the cruise, Kid's famous quote for the cruise was "I am on a boat mother fuckers". I must have heard that being said for days at least 100,000 times.
Day two you begin to loose track of time. I never really knew what time it was. It was a very laid back partying crowd. There were no fights like you see or end up in at bars. The fans were all so nice and I made a lot of good friends along the way. Kid would come out on and off to mingle with bands and fans every day. The fans never really swarmed him like crazies. We gave him respect and space. We allowed him for the most part to come to us. Security did a wonderful job protecting him and controlling the crowd. It was what he wanted "Chillin' the Most".
Day 2 was my friend and I ticketed show for Kid's concert that night. He preformed in a small lounge. I had 2 row. It was his best show I have seen considering how small and personal the crowd was. He put on a great show. He played for almost 2 hrs. He sang old stuff and even a new one that will be on the next album. Can't wait for the new cd to come out. That night was a costume party as well titled "Pimps and Hoes" A lot of people wore costumes have plenty of pics to share. It was great.
Day 3 was a lot of the bands playing in different areas of the ship. Lots of live music and great food and a whole lot of drinking. That was also a 2nd night show of Kid's concert for those that were not at the first one. That costume party title that night was "Mustaches and Mini Skirts". Drink after drink and show after show. I met most of his band through out the day. His drummer Stefanie was wonderful so down to earth and friendly. I look up to her with a lot of respect for being a bad ass female drummer. I was standing by a bathroom at one point that evening and Kid went to use the bathroom and passed me in the hall and stopped to hug me and gave me a kiss on the check and thanked me for coming. He is truly a sweet guy. He really loves his fans. He must have told them thank you over a dozen times. He always thinks of his fans. Once again I might add not too many entertainers do that. He and his band paid to have the ship for this event and mind you what it cost to go did make up for the money he spent to do this. It was his way of saying thanks to his loyal fan base and getting to know them on a more private level. We were suppose to go to the Cayman Islands but due to weather we had to go to the Bahamas instead which was fine with me. On day 3 we docked there for 7 and half hours to have a day in the sun and surf. Shopped and ate great food.
Day 4 was another day of fun times and huge parties. Bands playing live and Kid mingling with fans. He had a Q&A where fans could ask him questions and he gave us the answers. It was another costume theme pirates. The fans did some great stuff for their costumes. It was a none stop party. I hung out on the upper deck right next to kid's private patio and was an arm length away from him for most of the day. Went to Uncle Kracker's last show of the trip that night at 11pm to wine down the cruise. He was wonderful in concert as well. All of the bands did a really great job. It was the biggest party I have ever attended. I will for sure go again.
