The taped event took place at the 'Kennedy Center Hall of States' on December 5, 2010 in Washington, DC.
Merle Haggard, lyricist Jerry Herman, dancer and choreographer Bill T. Jones, Paul McCartney and Oprah Winfrey were all recognized for their contributions to American culture.
Kid Rock and Jamey Johnson performed the Merle Haggard classic, "Ramblin' Fever."
Other musical acts paying tribute included Kris Kristofferson, Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill and Brad Paisley.
