  • Rock musician Kid Rock performed a free concert for servicemen and women at Fort Travis Air Base Friday night. The Grammy-nominated artist also met privately with a selected group of active and veteran Airforce personnel before the concert.

  • Kid Rock Earns Standing Ovation at American Music Awards

    Kid Rock did Detroit proud again Sunday night with his performance of "Times Like These" during the American Music Awards.

    Rock belted out lyrics about the Motor City's struggle during the auto crisis and recent recession while images of the area's stressed cityscape and landmarks filled screens in the background. The acoustic version of the song, off his new "Born Free" album, garnered a standing ovation from a sold-out audience at L.A.'s Nokia Theatre.

    During 2007 and 2008 USO tours to Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Kyrgystan, Italy, Spain, Kosovo, and Afghanistan, Kid Rock was contemplating the true meaning of freedom. Whether performing in the freezing cold at Camp Phoenix in Afghanistan or singing during a sandstorm at Contingency Operating Base Speicher in Iraq, the performer saw the toughness of our men and women in uniform first-hand.

    On September 11, 2010, Kid Rock held a special concert at South Carolina's Fort Jackson to honor the American military.
