I just watched the Kimmel celebration of Jimmy’s 1,000th show and Kid Rock turned in a truly GREAT performance! I thoroughly enjoyed it (he sang All Summer Long). The only problem I had is that I was so disappointed that the song riffed TWO classic songs. The first is Warren Zevon’s Werewolf in London - the intro was so well done that it sounded EXACTLY like the beginning of the original recording (i.e., not like a cover) and the rhythm and beat of the piano music are so well recognized and permeate the entire song - it’s impossible to miss. Then, of course, the second riff is Sweet Home Alabama where the words are worked cleverly but the music phrasing is undeniable. But, maybe I’m being too picky. I was just shocked and caught off guard. But, as usual, Kid Rock turned in a great performance.

If you don’t understand All Summer Long…then all your summers must have sucked.

I was so lucky to see the man up close. You look so good, and your voice was great. The band sounded tight. As usual I always want so much more. But being the blessed one on that warm Hollywood night, I was so glad that I could see you for the 5th time.
Looks like you won’t be perfoming in Los Angeles soon, so I am thankful for Thursday night.

Have a great run, and be safe. I’ll see you when you come back to Los Angeles, or Vegas.
    Go Bruins!
