All Summer Long
All Summer Long
It was 1989, my thoughts were short my hair was long
Caught somewhere between a boy and man
She was seventeen and she was far from in-between
It was summertime in Northern Michigan
Ahh Ahh Ahh
Ahh Ahh Ahh
Splashing through the sand bar
Talking by the campfire
It's the simple things in life, like when and where
We didn't have no internet
But man I never will forget
The way the moonlight shined upon her hair
Chorus:
And we were trying different things
We were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long
Catching Walleye from the dock
Watching the waves roll off the rocks
She'll forever hold a spot inside my soul
We'd blister in the sun
We couldn't wait for night to come
To hit that sand and play some rock and roll
While we were trying different things
And we were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long
Now nothing seems as strange as when the leaves began to change
Or how we thought those days would never end
Sometimes I'll hear that song and I'll start to sing along
And think man I'd love to see that girl again
(Repeat Chorus x2)
Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

I love this song. if you sang for me in person, I will give you" SoHott" and we both get to choose one song for each of us out of this album. I want Rockn Roll Jesus to start, but less intensity. Then you can go" "Don't tell me U love me" " Half your age" and maybe we can go "When U love someone" and"Sugar" to conclude
just to be funny and then come back to "All summer long" but it don't matter, the summer is over and" Amen" abound???
idk.
I can so relate to this song!!! Takes me back to the 80's when life was sweet!!
It's my favourite song, whenever I hear it I feel happy, it makes me feel young again!
Thank you for that.

KID,
it was 1989 in Traverse City and we were all at Silver Lake (40 couples at least. The only thing you got wrong was the song .it was either Boston, AC/DC, Steve Earle or Jackyl but the rest almost brought tears to my eyes as the property was my grandparents and they are gone now and the property is too but the memories will never fade from my wife's or my mind those were times that brought us together down at the lake as we called and my forth of July parties the highlight of our year!.
Thanks for the song! Next time you are going to be in the Traverse area let me know I'll show you around
this is one of my all time favs..perhaps because Iam previntage...when we all pile up at our fav watering hole we call it here in town...the guys dont even ask me hey lisa which song of kids do u want to hear..they know talk about bringing back memories... with the ones they were created priceless!!

i luv this song
its without a doubt my favorite song from this album
I love this song. It really takes me back (way back LOL) to being seventeen again. Laying in the summer sun, partying with my friends, discovering love for the first time and listening to Lynard Skynard. It wasn't 1989 more like 1977. Kid you are timeless. I love your music and lyrics.
