Hey Tom, not going to Hard Rock unless I win the contest ;)...I am scheduled to spend that week in the UP of Wonderful Cold Michigan :)

I am going to let my fired-up comments die as I did get a little over-excited about the politics thread...it happens with me every election. Anyway, I did meet with my friend who works with veterans here in MI today--(her hubby has a purple heart)..
I asked her what the vets think of the current admin and Commander in Chief...I will try to recapture what she said..she said that the vets do not think a lot about Obama b/c he rarely visits the hospitals and bases, and when he does, it is with ppl who are 'ass-kissers' (not my words).. a couple of soldiers, photo op and out. She said Michelle visited the bases and wanted to change the food-lol. That the VA and red tape is a mess for vets. I asked her if it had been messsed up with GW, and she said not as bad as now. The perception is that the Prez is Commander--the buck stops with him, all of the BS should/would be fixed if he cared to do so. Not sure where that so-called Republican Senator got the 'Obama wonderful in word and deed' experience came from ,but hey, he voted for the man last time too, so he is entitled to his opinion. She said many military did not like GW, but that GW took th time to visit barracks and hospitals more often, and all the wounded soldiers, not just a couple. Also, GW was and still is involved in the Wounded Warrior Project--Obama, no. Hard to tell what Romney would or would not do- I do wish Obama would have been successful, I'm not a hard party-liner, despite what it sounds like..being a small business person, just very disappointing for us that the economy has been so bad, and truthfully, he just doesn't have the experience to fix it. He has polarized the business ppl in this country, and that is not a good thing..Dare I say he has forgotten the 53% (lol)..BTW I hated that whole 47% thing..I sincerely believe it was 'open mouth, insert foot.' I am trying really hard not to be aperson who puts blinders on or drinks the kool-aid, I really am. (sigh) time will tell. :) VS
