Since you are from New York i will tell you how i get mine here for my area. And don't repeat it. I have said it a while back. But i know others here will do what i do and i may lose my cherry seats. I will spill it on the board again after i get my ticket.
About 2 weeks before the show you start checking tickets(ticketmaster) about twice a day. Usually a good ticket will pop between the 10th and 12 day. Next if you think you can do better keep checking daily a couple of times a day. Up until the day of the show.
I got my 2009 3 rd row seat for face value that way. Works here where i am from. Not sure if my ways will work for you but it is worth a try.
I think it works because the tickets they try to sell for premium prices don't sell. Then so they don't eat the ticket they sell it @ face value.
