Do all my fellow Wingnuts have their Octopi ready to throw tonight? Sure am hoping for the best, but don't think it's gonna happen. GO WINGS!!!!
Dude...for real...you went from Kenny and whoever the other douche was to who??? Your guitarist's tone sounded like he was playing a Squier through a 1980 Crate practice amp. His intonation was shit too.
You went from bad to worse. C'mon Kid....you fucking rock and deserve guitarists worthy of sharing the stage with you. Hit me up. Think I'm BS'ing??? Try me.

I would love to hear Dylan chime in on this one...
I agree KevRock!! No need to say anythin else..cept "NUF SAID"!!
Marlon Young is a fucking great guitarist, and on top of that a great songwriter.. The guy is a genius, and practically wrote RNRJ... Cmon Now
that guitarist wrote most of this new album...and you probably love it.
*sigh*
wow...that's some loyalty there! Thank you for recognizing that the presence is missing on guitar!! Can't say I thought Kenny was a great player...but at least he did have some attitude and spunk!
I agree with 2Bit...'Marlon ain't no slouch'...at all. He's better than some of the others who attempted to replace Kenny, for sure.
That said, no one will replace Kenny in TBT as far as I'm concerned. I don't accept change well, am very sentimental, especially related to 'family'. TBT is like a family, Kenny is a member of that family for life IMO..."brother until the end". He was with TBT from the beginning, since 1994 I think, when Kid & TBT formed, before the major record deal, money & fame of Kid Rock. Left TBT in 2005, 11 yrs performing with Kid & TBT...as well as a contributing writer to the music.
I'd become somewhat complacent to Kenny leaving TBT as time passed...no choice but to accept...however, once seeing & spending time with Kenny in Memphis it reminded me again of how much he's missed on stage with Kid & TBT. Kenny becomes one with his guitar, puts out an amazing energy on stage that has not been presence since he left. Kenny's stage presence is definitely missed at the shows by many long time fans who remember the yrs Kenny & his guitars energized the stage.
I'd feel the same, miss the other long term members of TBT if they left...just not the same when the original members of a band begin to be replaced, or leave. :(
Oh the memories...
I realize this....just venting. I doubt Kid would ever see this too. You are right about the rest of the band....drummer and bass player in particular are very good. Drummer is actually from my hometown.
Jimi Hendrix?!?? What are you talking about?? I've met Kenny...he can't be more than in his early 40s. Hendrix died in 1970! How do you figure?
KR isn't all country or all ballads by any means....he is a well rounded motherfucker! I would most definitely be comfortable onstage with him and playing all the different styles he does. And BTW....was I lying?? Did you watch any of my playing? I am not one of those douchebag idiots who can't put up! :)
I felt like the performance and tone on the VMAs was not good and never felt that Kenny Olsen or Jason Krause were impressive. Not that I think KR needs a Steve Vai type of virtuoso by any means.....I just know when someone has soul. Didn't see it tonight...though the clip above isn't bad. Maybe I haven't heard enough of Marlon to really judge him but I was not impressed tonight.
take your pick...there's others on youtube as well.

hmm...interesting proposition. while i don't have the equipment or desire to make some basement/bedroom bullshit...there are videos of me playing out there. a link shall follow. i am by no means scared 2bit. i have toured with AIC, VR, as well as Axl's new version of G-n-R and many others and have recieved personal compliments from Slash, Duff, Jerry Cantrell, etc. SO....again...not saying I am the greatest...but I hold my own.
KR doesn't even know me....my point is that he deserves better than what he's had in his band in terms of guitarists. And while I don't claim to be the world's greatest...I, along with many others, can do far better than his current and previous lineup.
