    Canton is planning on welcoming home Olympic Gold Medalist swimmer Allison Schmitt at 6 p.m. tomorrow (Aug. 14) at the Heritage Park Amphitheater. Schmitt won five medals at the London games. The outdoor theater is located in the park just behind the township's administration offices on Canton Center, north of Michigan Avenue or south of Cherry Hill.

Chop Shop: I hope you don't mind, I took your flag I still had from the DSO concert and held it up high with my kids. Allison gave us a nod. We are sooooo proud of her and proud of her hard-working parents, too. It was a really nice rally and will be on channel 7 and 4 tonight.

I hope a million show up for AllisonSchmitt's parade, sadly we won't be able to. She was a great rep for our country. Flint is planning something for Claressa Shields, First woman ever to win a Gold in boxing since this is the first year they have ever had it in the Olympics. Kind of cool a 17 year old gal from Flint will be in the Olympic history books. Great article in the news about her.
