    Thoughts relating to members being banned and website policy...
    Connie Jo says (30 May '10)

    **NOTE**...for those replying in my discussion, please keep it respectful and clean. The purpose and point of my disscussion here is to encourage re-consideration of current website policy relating to bannings, and to possibly in the future include a warning at the time of violation prior to ban. As well as, to implement a policy of which the length of ban is fair based upon severity of violation. Lastly, to point out the benefit of the most recent bans not being worthy of what is lost to the website by comparison. Thank you in advance for keeping any discussion & debate replies respectful. :)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I don't participate in many websites, as I'm very selective, haha. However, I've visited several over the years, and do participate in a major NFL Chiefs website, etc..
    I understand that rules and policies are very necessary, considering human behavior, personality clashes, conflict with culture differences, and so on. People naturally will not get along, and drama or conflict is a reality in every aspect of our lives...family, work, school, public environments, including the internet. I also understand these rules and policies must be enforced fairly and religiously in order for them to be effective.
    That said, the majority of public websites enforce levels of punishment depending upon severity of violation. There are typically warnings issued prior to being banned, at least one...followed by levels of banishment from one week to a month, a year, or permanently...depending upon severity and repetition of a member violating rules.
    I don't know if Angel, Theresa, or Tangie were warned or not, possibly. However, what I do know is this...
    All three of these most recent banned members contributed to this website in positive ways of far greater value than not, and of value exceeding any benefit of their not being allowed to particpate with permanent banning.
    They are missed of course by friends, but more importantly is what will be missed on the website of priceless irreplaceable value without their participation. The first to note and consider of priceless value were the contributions Angel made with habitually posting news, updates, information & knowledge relating to Kid Rock, TBT, etc.. Theresa's priceless contribution to the website was through her remarkably artistic, creative, and unique published poems and stories. Additionally, each brought much personality and interesting character to the website through their senses of humor, rhyming talents, etc..
    I also know, that though a website has thousands of members, only a fraction will participate loyally on a regular basis contributing to the website...which the three banned members did do, also of priceless value in my opinion. The fewer members a website has, of which participate regularly...the more boring and mundane it shall become, and interest overall will eventually be lost with interaction among only a few.
    It's also a proven fact, that some conflict is healthy and vital for a successful website, though that conflict indeed should be, and can take place among members respectively...without explicit name calling, and so on. Conflict also draws interest and participation naturally...we humans can't seem to avoid it, haha. This of course is why reality show ratings shoot through the roof, as well as soap opera's, lol.
    I don't know if the banning's of Angel, Theresa, and Tangie are permanent or not, but I certainly hope not...as the entire website will suffer as a result in various ways. The ladies certainly without doubt violated current policy and therefore were deserving of their bans, but in my opinion, of which may be of little to no value...a temporary cooling off period ban would've sufficed as punishment in this case. I did read the drama discussions in question, so am voicing my opinion with facts & knowledge related, rather than not.
    If possible...it would be appreciated if banned members positive contributions, such as comments left on personal pages...were not deleted along with the member. For instance...Theresa and Angel both had left comments on my page, of which I considered very sentimental. They're now gone permanently. I did nothing wrong, yet with those comments removed...I was punished to some extent as well. Theresa's poetry and stories are gone with her page deleted...I typically read poems and/or stories on her page often when I visit KRC...some of which I found emotionally beneficial, through initiating thoughts in various aspects...as reading such can sometimes sooth ones soul. I've lost that benefit now with the website too, as a result of Theresa's banishment and her page being banned right along with her.
    Concluding thoughts...every one of us has the capability to find ourselves caught up in conflict or drama. However, I know for a fact that it is possible to make ones point, or criticize anothers point, debate a point of view, and so on...respectively, without it having to violate policies. It may take more effort, but in the end it's worth it to oneself, and to everyone else. We all suffer when members are banned, that are our friends, and/or contribute in priceless ways with our finding enjoyment in coming here. It's unfair to those of us who did not violate policy when we lose due to others...keep that in mind when you find yourself wanting to attack in ways that violate policy...you're hurting many indirectly.
I'm sorry Kid Cater, I need to correct an error. I didn't mean to spell your name wrong up above in an earlier comment. I'm not familiar with who you are, so it was an innocent error of miss-spelling. :)
Apology accepted
Kid Cater
Are you for real here? I also saw with my own eyes what you said, so therefore your little "LIE" theory is out the window. Second, RedwingT has never treated anyone on this site with anything but respect, so your little pity party, well, its having a really low turnout.
Man, some peoples kids..
RedwingT's picture
Once again, you posted a reply on a Discussion, not me....as to anything else you said here in this reply, please see my reply above.
BTW, I am not sticking up for anyone else here but myself. Why you think I am a hater and in the middle of all the drama is beyond me...but too each his own I guess
Thank you, hope you have a good day too!
RedwingT's picture
First of all Cater, I apoligize, I thought u were banned. I do admit when I am wrong, and If you weren't banned, then my bad, my mistake! Did Angel tell me that, uhh I don't think so. It was an assumption on my part.
2nd-did I even bring up the So called Lie as you call it...NO I DIDN'T...but you and I had talked in chat one night and I told you that I seen what you had put on a certain someones page with my own eyes. I totally stayed outta the drama except the one time in the very beginning I told Tangie that I had seen it for myself on the page. And that I had nothing to gain or nothing to loose by saying that, because the person's page I seen it on and I are not friends. She excepted my friend request so that I could look at her Motown pics...Just so happened the timing matched up with the start of the drama....That was it, nothing else from me on the subject!
3rd-I don't want to fight with you! You made a post today and I simply answered it asking you not to bring the drama back here, especially since I have seen your posts at the other site. I thought you were gonna let it go and it was gonna be done with. Then u post asking pretty much for someone to reply. Well I did and I didn't slander you, or bring up the past, just simply the present and wanted to let you know we don't want the crap here and if your going to throw out posts like you did earlier today, then in my opinion you are contribuating to the initial problem. Thats it, once again nothing more or nothing less.
Since your here why not make this a positive place and not rehash what is done. It's over with and lets keep it that way! I have reread my post to you, and I honeslty cannot see where you think I am bashing you? I prolly could have, but choose not to go that route. I thought I would let you know my opinion in an adult way. I'm sorry if you want to make something more out of it then it was meant to be.
Could it be the drama inspired discussion and more active posting? I observed it was rather quiet and mundane prior to the drama, haha. I've often noticed websites seem to become more active during & after a drama, then it dies down becomes quiet again...till the next drama comes about, lol.
As far as being nice not having any...I've observed it's a temporary feeling that tends to pass for most, haha. I never understood why those who say they don't enjoy drama just don't avert the drama discussions, rather than read it to know about it and become upset? :)
How are ya Rox? Well I hope. :)
Connie Jo_3's picture
Well, hahaha...my thoughts as to Craters comment... 'what if Bob came on the website'.
First, even with one or two conflict's going on somewhere on this rather large website..."Bob's" name is plastered everywhere, on most every page overwhelmingly. I don't think he's not gonna see his name, lol.
Secondly, "Bob" is human too, and no doubt would be intrigued by some drama read here, after all...he himself has participated in, and been the subject of much drama and conflict...& he disscussed it thereafter publicly, now hasn't he?
I don't believe Kid Rock would expect from his fans what he doesn't expect from himself. That would make him quite the hypocrite now wouldn't it? We all can be hypocritical, but I've never interpreted Kid as being a habitual hypocrite, quite the opposite in fact. :)
Connie Jo_3's picture
Okay, haha. I wasn't sure. :)
OK, first I would like to start off by saying....
Normally I would never repost someone else's reply that they deleted. But I gave my reply alot of thought and effort, and when I hit add reply the little wheel just sat there and spun. So for my own self gratifaction of not wasting 30 minutes of my morning that should have been spent with my son, I have decided to repost! hahaha
Now My well thought out and respectful reply!
OK, Respectfully, ( I will try very hard here)
1. How did u get back on this site? Did you get a temporary ban?
2. I don't think you should come on here being all nicey nicey when your are posting/slingin hash on another site. Of course your not "SAYING" her name, but the implication was very very clear.
What happened to the truse, the letting it go, why come here and even mention it and stir things up again?
You know what your comment is going to
Ms. Understood's picture
My thoughts exactly!!! Said 3rd person IS A FUCKTARD!!!!!!!!
Ms. Understood's picture
It is my opinion that 2 of the 3 banned were "contributors" to this site...they had information and talent that added meaningful content. I'm sure that if they had been "warned" they would have at least attempted to comply and to be honest, I think they did try to be compliant. But then you have the 3rd player here...she came in only to suck information and start problems. I have had first hand dealings with said 3rd person and know for a fact that she is nothing more than a drama/gossip queen. So, that being said...I will miss 2 and the 3rd...I'll just keep that to myself....
kidrockschic's picture
I agree also! There should be a level of punishment. If someone attacks you, are you just supposed to take it in fear of being banned? I am not trying to second guess the decisions made by those who are in charge here but it seems pretty harsh to be zap you're out! I did not see the final comments that caused the banning but do know that conflict had been going on for a while and I was tired of it, but I think they should have been warned and placed on a probation type status. I have been the target a few times and I know how easily it gets out of hand but what constitutes a banning offense? By the definitions on the front page it could be easy to get your self banned, maybe too easy. If you disagree with someone are you going to be banned? Or was it threats or cussing? What exactly was it that got them all banned? This place is going to suck and be boring without them.
Eva37's picture
well put connie and i agree with you 100% maybe they will get ro come back sooner or later
bluesuedeshoe's picture
Believe nothing was said or done by these three ladies that warrants a lifetime ban. A ban of 30 days is more than sufficient as a cooling off period.
Hope Ronny and the powers that be will reconsider, and change the guidelines. Especially, if no warning was issued prior to the banning.
All three contributed much needed humor and lots of information supporting the Bob and the band. These are the kind of people you need at a site, because they keep interaction going on a daily basis.
Bobbie Jean_2's picture
I am trying to think of what to say, but Connie Jo, I think you said it all with a high level of respect towards the website manager handling this site, I believe it's Ronnie. Regardless of whom it may be now or still is, very well and very respectfully stated Connie Jo. I don't know what went on to bring this about, but I do know that you were totally right in all the ways that they contributed to this site on a positive aspect. I honestly wondered why Mr. Ritchie didnt seek Angel out for a pr person. For media fields outside of here. The knowledge she had was amazing, she knows more about Kid Rock, than I know about any guy I ever dated, I was actually like, man how does somebody have time to know all that and still have time to eat and sleep???? Amazing. Theresa, best word is art. I never interacted alot with her, but when I would pop on / off here and there,there she was her name with a recent post. I would think oh, the KR team is here... :) Tang, always a laugh. Like I said, I dont know what went on, but a temporary ban sounds beneficial to all. Ronnie, we do know that you are not only just doing your job, but your job is kinda looking out for the respect of others on here and your efforts are not unappreciated, just please find in your heart for a temporary band of the community team peeps & others in the manner that Connie Jo mentioned.... :)
BRENDA_88's picture
very true no i'm sry they got no warning!!!!!!!! just banned it will not be the same but they have places for them to go~~~~~~~~
Connie Jo_3's picture
So are you saying you know that they were warned without notice?
I didn't say we all need to get along, though the thought would be nice, haha. It's naturally impossible for humans to all get along, and I never expect the un-natural or unrealistic, I know better, lol. Besides, always getting along is too boring, hahaha. :)
However, it is possible, that we can disagree, even downright argue without it violating policy. I know, I've argued and even became angry without violating policy. I also learned a long time ago...that sugar wins more battles than salt, and you have a better chance of convincing an opponent to consider your point of view by doing it respectively, rather than not. People won't even consider listening to those they don't like or respect, at all.
Why risk getting banned if the one you're attacking isn't hearing what you are saying or taking it to heart anyway? :)
BRENDA_88's picture
u know Connie i agree they should of been warned , but they were without notice...yes we all need to get along.. i have tryed but sometimes it doesn't work out that way.....
