    Thank You....
    angela says (25 Jun '08)

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented on my first post. I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers in regards to my employment situation. Fortunately for some of us the breach in the levy sytem a few miles up the river saved our downtown from the worst. My thoughts and prayers go out to those that have lost in that area. Also, the victims in the rest of the state, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and the countless others. Plus, not wanting to leave out the horrible distruction in Parkersburg due to the worst tornado in the states history. And to the families of the boy scouts and their life changing ordeal with a tornado. It's been a hell of a year for us here in Iowa. God Bless you All!
For a bit of good news, as of yesterday afternoon I am officially back to work, and not for clean-up duties! I do have to say the break in my routine truly was felt, and will be awhile before I get back in the groove, so to say. I have a fun job that most people consider easy, they look at me puzzled sometimes when I can hardly walk after a shift. I am a food server/bartender/jack of all trades....and yes master of none. (which is bull!) I am 46 years old, (as of June 11!) and can run circles around my co-workers 20 years younger! Like I said the faster the better!!! I thank you all again...I'm off to work for a double header today! Go I-Cubs!!!

Great perserverence in such a tragic situation. Keep your sanity and bless you. You already seem to have what it takes to get through all of this.
