I hadn't heard any of the new music except for Born Free until the day it came out. My hubby went and picked it up for me at lunch but unbeknownst to him (because, of course, I wanted the actual cd) it was waiting on my computer that morning when I got to work so I had my first experience of the new tunes in my office at a low level till my boss arrived and listened while I worked answering the phone and typing. So it was really just background music but at least I was able to listen until the time I could crank it.
Anyway, when that song came on I was walking from another room and I thought, who the hell is that? I knew he had some guests on the album but then realized it was actually Kid. Needless to say I had to start it over and turn it up a bit. I initially thought....well he's no Adam Levine or Barry Gibb :o) but I loved the song nonetheless. It made me smile! The lyrics, along with the voice, have me listening to it at least twice each time it comes on and turning it up a bit! I think (as of this minute) it may be my favorite song!
Anybody with me?
Love it..It's Great !! Bobby is so talented...!!
its one of my favoirites.
i'm jamming to it right now!! and when the song ends, i'm gonna play it again. it's KID MUTHERFUCK'N ROCK BABY!!! cool song.
Love the lyrics. That is one talent that Bob has that no can deny............the man writes from his soul and hits your heart! I didn't really like the high voice at first, but it grew on me. I have heard him sing it in other videos and he doesn't sing it so high. Actually sounds a little better. The Born Free album is my favorite, but a close second is Rock N Roll Jesus. Still listen to the old stuff, like Live Trucker, it gets my blood going and inspires me to to face the day!
I love that song!
I Love It!!!!!!!
Totally with you! I had the same reaction "who the hell is that!" I love the song. Goes to show you how talented Kid is! Keep Rockin!
Yes mamm
It finally occurred to me what band this song made me think of, the music that is (of course, no one sings like Kid even with this strange new voice coming out of his mouth) and it's the Marshall Tucker Band. The lead singer for that band could easily sing this song as he regularly sings and it would fit right in with any of their music. I still say it is a great song! For you nay sayers...you should crank it up to about 40 which is my sweet spot and really listen to the song all the way through. (A couple beers or a 4-0 first doesn't hurt either! lol) That might change your mind. Never know :o) It does start off a bit to the left but I love the words. One of my sons was a sailor and the other is in a rock and roll band and I guess it made me think of them and kept me listening but by the time the song was over and I've had the chance to listen to it quite a bit I'm like...you know it's a very different, positive, well written, actually beautiful song! I still say one of the best on the album! Opinions are always welcome. What's yours?
(Hi Beckxy, nice to see you! Remembering partying in the D a few years ago when we met. Now that was fun! Messed with Jamie over the Michigan/Ohio game by text on Sat. till she told me to go take a nap :o)
no sorry.. I think this is one of the worst Kid Rock songs ever. I do like most of the album but i wish it was over after track 11.
The lyrics to that song are great.....but my first thought after I first heard the song was...'He is gonna have to re-record that song if he wants air play on the radio....
NO
ABSOLUTELY !!!
Hi Darlene.. it's been a long time
I believe we met thru our good friend Jamie
Anyway.. I love the song.. it's a great feel good song.
Just like Kracker's "Daam, It feels good to be me"
I like that he tried something different with his voice
it compliments the song real well.
