    So, I'm babysitting this weekend...
    Kool says (14 Dec '08)

My former neighbor's 3 year old grandson (who she is fostering) is coming to stay with me tonight until Sunday and I must admit I'm a little nervous. What are we gonna do all weekend? I love him and he's fun but I've never kept him that long.

How do I get him to go to sleep? Last time he was over I thought he would fall asleep on the couch while we were watching Sprout, but he fought it until after 11pm.

play music, find something on the internet for kids that will make them laugh.....had to do it with my nieces son when he was 4 cuz she was all that he would ask for, and then i discovered that he loved seeing funny things on the internet.

Thanks, sweetie! I decided he is going in the extra room. There is a nice futon bed in there now and I'll just pull it out for him. I got some books this afternoon at work so I think I'm all set.

I agree w/ Angel! haha...I'm such a bore..but then having 3 of them allll the time does that :-)
Chances are, if you put him to sleep out on your couch, he's gonna stay up later...i'd put him in your bed or the extra room...you can always move him after he's asleep.

Yep, you can even have dinner in there. Settle down to watch TV in there if you can manage to include the Tv, of course. The if your lucky he'll fall asleep in there too.

I was going to say tent up the living room with spare blankets and furniture but Phyllas's idea is much easier to clean up.

Indoor forts are always fun and very cool.

Thanks for the advice, ladies. I'm gonna put him down in bed tonight and read him some books that I just bought.

Love the box idea, Mags and my cats will love that too! lol.

get a cardboard box big enough for him to get inside of --he will play for hours getting in and out of the box, my nephews would even fall asleep in them ---fun for hours at that age they think they are doing something big by hiding from you in the box
