    Rockin' up In Northern Michigan!
Mrs. Deon says (25 May '09)

I just got my tickets for the Boyne Mountain show in Mi that will be on Aug 2. It took forever to find a place to rent, but yayy, we found a place but now there's one IMPORTANT thing that is causing an issue, transportation!! I have searched online, called limo companies, etc but WTF! Why is there limited transportation for such a big event up north? I called the lodge and they aren't providing anything into Boyne City (however they do in the winter for all the skiiers). I see that the this town would much rather have drunk people driving home later at night than provide secure transportation. Parking opens at 1:00, which means 7 hours of tailgating/drinking before the concert even begins!

I'm sure one of us in my group will draw the short straw and be the DD but you have other idiots out there that won't do that.

Everyone, please be safe if you're going to that concert and then driving home - I'll be in one of those vehicles trying to make it home safe.

Be careful where you stay!! Some of the hotels are DIVES!!! NASTY, we got screwed. We booked with out checking it out first. They told us it was walking distance. We went into town before and had to buy cheap sheets and a few towels, one to stand on in the shower because the place was soooo nasty, we even bought paper products. We left them there. But there was no where else available and we booked way in advance. We were riding though so we were kinda stuck. I think we ended up riding to the venue anyway and the sprinklers where they had the bikes park were on forever so our bikes were wet more like soaked ,and so was our ass and not from the hill. They did do a full body pat down too I remember. Head to ankle. Butt, It was a GREAT show. Wear comfy shoes too because of the hill is worse than DTE or any other venue I have been at.

And if you think you'll be hungry...I'd take yourself a snack...we stayed in Gaylord and NOTHING was open after but Taco Hell and the line was 50 cars long since nothin' else was open...

Wow, yeah I'll have to watch who has what in the vehicle. I have a sister that lives in Charlevoix and she told me that cops were nuts up there, I can see your point on handing out the tickets, especially in this sad economy.

However, I am really excited about this concert, this will be my third Kid concert this year, 4th all time...so maybe I'll chill on the partying this time around and let my friends enjoy the night!

Obviously your first time. The cops are WICKED!!!! Some of the old timers can testify to that. Watch your ass you will be in deep shit. If you can get a ride GOOD luck. Don't have anything open in your car and make sure you know Who and What is in you ride.

Thats because during concerts like this (especially this one) they make a TON of money ticketing people. There was TONS of cops the last show!
