On Monday September 20, 2010 Parmalee had just finished performing at a nightclub in Rock Hill, SC when two armed men forced their way onto the band's RV and demanded money. Detectives say the suspects pointed a gun at vocalist Matt Thomas, at which point his brother Scott Thomas came out from the back of the RV with his own gun and told the robbers to leave. According to the police incident report It was at that time the male suspects fired on Scott and he returned fire. A shootout ensued, which lead to both robbers along with Scott being shot. Lieutenant Brad Redfearn of the Rock Hill police says one of the robbers, Demario Burris, died at the scene, the other suspect, Dytavis Hinton, ran about a hundred yards then collapsed.
Scott Thomas is undergoing a series of surgeries in a Charlotte hospital and remains in the Intensive Care Unit. Updates on his condition can be found at Parmalee.com.

Note: I've known Scott most of his life and he is one of the most hard-working people I know. He is good ole NC southern boy, member of the NRA, and works in the timber business to help fill in the gaps that his music career can't cover...yet. I know it is tough for everybody, if you can't donate please say a prayer for his recovery. He is still listed in critical conditon and faces one more surgery on Friday the 24 th to close one his wounds.

Will do - I know God sure didnt bring him this far for nothing, he will be healed and have loads of songs to come from it. Prayer changes everthing so will keep praying. Note, should infection become one called staff, that is from the within the hospital, would need to be treated most agressively. ALSO NOTE, I PRAY NOT, BUT IF INFECTION BECOME SEVERE THERE IS A ROTATION BED. MOST EFFECTIVE, TURNS PATIENT EVERY 15 MINUTES, EVER SO SLIGHTLY, BUT ENOUGH TO KEEP INFECTION FROM PROGRESSING BY ALLOWING FLUID MOVEMENT TO BE CONSTANT, DISALLOWING AGRESSIVE GROWTH OF EXISTING INFECTION. Will keep praying, my Mom, Nephew, and Niece are all praying too!

Just want to let folks in the Greenville, NC area know that a vigil in Scott's honor is being held tonight in Greenville at the Collide Ministries building located on West Ninth Street beginning at seven o'clock.
People will be asked to sign a poster for Thomas and contribute to the help Parmalee fund.
Anyone heard how Scott is doing of recent? (I have not ever heard their music, but I hate this situation on anyone.)
I have seen this band...they put on a hellua show...Its sad when a group of hard-working guys fall into a situation like this...I am just glad that they stood up and defended themselves...God Bless Scott...I hate that it caused injury and death, but the fact is that the robbers chose to put themselves in that situation, so there were inevitable consequences...
