Once upon a time, a Kid Rock show in Detroit was something all my people wanted to go to. It was the cool thing to do, the cool place to be, a good time for all. Now my mom wants to go, my aunt calls for tickets, and my teachers from High School frequent the shows. Once upon a time, he was a devil without a cause, now he is all religous during his shows, making me feel as if he is a zealot without a cause. The lyrics and content used to be on the edge, its what made him who he is, now its pathetic and same ole same ole. Why do I hold on?

Kid Rock chips in $20K to rev up Arts, Beats & Eats

Kid Rock has stepped up with a crucial assist for Arts, Beats & Eats.
The Oakland County rocker has invested about $20,000 in sponsor funds via his fashion line, Made in Detroit, helping defray costs for one of the areas signature fests.
AB&E, which runs Sept. 4-7 in downtown Pontiac, had lost more than $400,000 in funding this year, mostly because of Chryslers pullout from its title sponsor role.
In what it described as a gesture of community goodwill, the festival announced last month it will be donating sponsorship packages to Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, including exhibit space and a local-music stage.
Made in Detroit will now pick up costs for that stage, to be christened the Kid Rock Made in Detroit Big Three Stage.
We heard the festival was facing financial challenges this year and thought this was the perfect venue to show our support of Ford, Chrysler and GM, as well as the festival, Kid Rock said in a statement issued by the festival.
The formerly free AB&E is instituting a $2 admission charge, with some proceeds going to area nonprofit organizations.

I am glad we have the right to voice our opinion in this country! That being said, I do not believe we can blame Obama for the state of this country. It didn't get this way since he became President; the conditions we now face have been coming on for a long time. He is just the man in office that is left to deal with it. It took a lot to get us in this mess, and it won't be cleaned up over night. I vote to give the man a chance. So far, he has done more to help my situation than any President in a very long time.
And in the meantime, I'll be thankful we live in a country where we can have a discussion like this in a public forum.
Not getting into politics, just talking Pell grants. The money is there. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for those who wish to go for advance schooling and training.
Folks should look into it and apply, it will probably be another whole generation before this kind of money is available again.
Healthcare is a mess. In my opinion, due to excess profits received by the medical/insurance carriers, who refuse to police themselves. Just like utilities, it may be time to put restraints on it. No one will like the results.
I will think differently on hunting for sport or population control when the deers, rabbits, pheasants, etc. are able to defend themselves and fire back! I have known people who hunt strictly for food. They used the entire animal. That is a different story. That was the only way they fed their families because they had no money. They never took more than they could use.
I just want to add...that yes, I'm Conservative Republican. However, I don't vote based upon party...I vote for who my instincts tell me will be the better person to represent mine and those I care about, interests. May sound selfish, but it's a fact I'm gonna think about me & mine when choosing who to vote for.

Well, unfortunately there's always been much propoganda on the necessity to kill wildlife to control over-population, which much of isn't factual. I'm no PETA personality, but I know for a fact that Insurance Lobbyists inflate the stats & facts relating to over-population & hunting being necessary to control for benefit of the animals, deer specifically. It's more about saving the insurance companies money, than being humane to the wildlife due to overpopulating.
Anyone tries to shoot a deer on my property, I'm gonna shoot back on the deer's behalf, see how they like it!
Sorry, I live near a wildlife preserve area, of which opens to the public during various allowed hunting seasons. I'm not real fond of hunters, considering their adreneline pumped trigger happy fingers and irresponsibile handling of dangerous deer rifles shot & killed one of my dogs a few yrs back, and kill many cattle in our area too, as well as...have shot & killed horses, and even one of our local citizens when a stray bullet from a deer rifle went through his truck window. :(
See what you gotta do is this: I was told there was tons of money ready for those of us going back to school so I went to my wonderful career center here, took their stupid tests, went back to get my results and they told me that the county was running out of money, not the Government mind you but the County, and they stated that they were still giving the money out but just not for my Degree which is human services.
They then mentioned to me that since my income was lower that the government released more money to Pell and I had to ask for a special condition request on my last Pell application to see if I could get the 5,000 that was released in July. I wouldn't have known a damn thing about it if I didn't press them for it.
Race has nothing to do if you get a pell grant or not. If anything I should be crying discrimination because I have no dependents so I always get shit and those that have kids get it all handed to them.
I have worked in government agencies for about 10 years and I have never seen a preference or special treatment based on color or gender. It depends on income, members in the household, and usually the amount it takes for a person to have a roof over their head. In the county I live in NY the majority of those on assistance, be it medicaid, food stamp or housing it is 85% white, disabled and elderly and the remainder are of non white origin.
I get nothing because I am married with no children and own my own home, its as simple as that.

Same is true with most other money Obama & his Liberal party are making available. I am not bringing religion into this at all. You have taken a term "faith" and applied it to a subject that it was not intended. I am using the word "faith" as being "confident belief; trust; loyalty; allegiance" per my dictionary. I was also referring to Palin's politics not my personal opinion of her. It is great that you have faith in Jesus. I don't judge anyone for their personal spiritual beliefs but there are many people who have a different take on religion and spirituality. Truthfully, do you really think there is a separation of church and state? I feel the lines are blurred.
