Hi everyone! I wanted to let you all know I'm ok. Someone hacked my FB account. It really upset me. 2 days ago while playing Bejeweled my screen fuzzed and then asked me log in again...like a dumbass I did. The next thing i knew later that night my phone lit up with orange !!!!!!!! and my email account was stolen. I got my email back and put a very hard password on it. I thought everything was ok. I was playing bejeweled again yesterday and the same thing....right in the middle of the game fuzzed screen then ask to log in again. I did NOT do it and actually ripped the plug out of the wall. I then realized no more games on FB. So last night I took a pix of my beautiful Casablanca lilies. I was thinking about Amy Winehouse singing in GOD"S chior so I decied to make a status comment about GOD"S private choir....... It was beautiful! I showed to my husband and he said yep that's nice. I hit enter and much to my suprise I watched someone change all my God's chiors to read HOE"S! I couldn't get it off my page either........at that point I shut my page down and called the Obe one of computers. He said someone fished my account. I'm still getting messages from people on FB I'm so confused and upset. I feel so violated! My tech says I have to do this safe mode thing and both my web dishes network are not secure so I have to put a password on them now so no one can use my network or something like that.
If you get any emails from me-well really anything DO NOT OPEN IT!!!!! I should be back up and running safe by the weekend or if I can figure out how to follow the nasa directions my tech set me. LOL LOL
THIS SUCKS! ALONE ON MY MOUNTAIN AGAIN :( HUGS!
Krlo yep sounds strange to me.....I don't understand how someone can poke you if you are not my friend? This guy has been poking me(STOP LAUGHING) and he is not my friend. I don't know how he can even see my page as it is set to private??? I looked at his profile and he just graduated college. It all is just very scary! Makes it hard to trust people. So sad!
got a question, I just got a friend request from someone, He or She said we had 1000 friends in common, I don't have that many friends on FB or in real life so I denied the request immediately and FB said it would deny him or her any further access. Is this a scam? Just wondering. @ Lady Viper what a pain, I don't want to start all over w/ FB but this particular dick or bitch may force me to. @Lisa we went w/ Macs 4 yrs ago and everyone is switching over as soon as we can afford them. The only 2 problems we have ever had with the Mac was with FB. Hmmm?
The Dock side! That's funny! Good one! Can I use it? I hope so! I own my own biz also but it gets to me. LOL I'm so happy for you that you are doing well. So many people are not all over the world! So more HUGS 4 U !!!!!!! Take care and watch those Hacker Wackers!
Thanks Lady Viper, hugs 2U2 -- although I'll admit that technically, like my good friend that's just a little younger than me, I'm old enough to be . . . well, a grandmother!! Say what?! When did this happen? ; ) I have yet to spring that line on the occasional "boy" that makes a pass at me! His reaction should be pretty entertaining and creep him out enough to only see the dust he leaves behind! LOL
I'm an artist, not a tech-head; so, trust me, 20 years I did not want to use computers, let alone work with them and have them be my bread and butter, but thankfully, I did. Heck, now I can roam around outside and take photos, design say a calendar using the photos and either print it and sell it, or do it online from my online "storefront" that (I also designed) and that's open 24/7, 365 a year! It's so nice to work for yourself and to work from home -- commuting is a thing of the past for me!!
And, computers are so smart these days. I've probable touch a PC only a handful of times my whole life!! I'm a Mac girl, they are so user-friendly that even my 84-year-old mother who knows zero about computers was able to turn on my iMac, launch the browser from the "dock" and then log into my email to send me messages while I was on the cruise without cell service. So, I rest my case on the user friendliness of Macs. More PCs users should come over to the "dock" side, so-to-speak. LOL
My tech came yesterday and locked down my biz so I'm 100% safe now. He had 9 screens going! It boggeled my mind and I couldn't keep up with what in the hell he was doing. These kids today are brillant! Makes me feel old and out dated. LOL LOL We must keep our eyes and hearts open cause in the next 10-15 years they will control everything we older people see and do. LOL LOL hugs 2 U Lk!
You're welcome, sorry this happened to you. Here's an informative article -- How They've Hacked You:
http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2011/technology/1107/gallery.common_hacks...
And, imho, I think this site has been/is a victim of the type of hacking called SQL Injections, mentioned in the article. If you haven't already, I would change your passwords, here and on your emails (for starters) and created a strong password using a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.
Yep, seriously creepy stuff that goes on "out there" in cyberland -- the Fn bastards!!!!
My daughter is a BIG Firefox fan! She keeps it on a flashdrive even. The world web is a scary place. Looks like I pretty much fixed everything so I'm happy!
@LK great read and thank you.
A trending article on CNN.com right now is: Are Internet Explorer users dumb?
The most popular browser (for now) is IE, given the fact it is automatically installed with Windows, non-techie users will continue to use it because it's already there. So, it's not that they're dumb, they just don't know any better.
Improved security is often cited as a reason to switch from IE to Firefox. The Washington Post reports that exploit code for critical unpatched security vulnerabilities in IE was available for 284 days in 2006. In comparison, exploit code for critical security vulnerabilities in Firefox was available for 9 days before Mozilla issued a patch to remedy the problem.
"Internet Explorer has been subjected to many security vulnerabilities and concerns: Much of the spyware, adware, and computer viruses across the Internet are made possible by exploitable bugs and flaws in the security architecture of Internet Explorer, sometimes requiring nothing more than the user viewing a malicious web page in order to install themselves."
And, what's certainly true about the article is that "It is common knowledge that Internet Explorer Versions 6.0 to 8.0 are highly incompatible with modern web standards. In order to make websites work properly on these browsers, web developers have to spend a lot of unnecessary effort ...,"
The big boy (Microsoft) doesn't want to play fair and comply to web standards -- making me, as a web developer, jump through hoops to make web pages display properly in IE browsers; and, this non-compliance allows vulnerabilities on IE user's computers -- it's total BS!!
Do yourselves a favor, IE users and download Firefox 5 or Chrome today. You can be up and running (including importing your IE bookmarks) within minutes. You'll be glad you did!!
I use Norton and Malwarebytes... They warn me imediately and stop the virus
Hi guys! I will be trying my FB page today. I feel the problem has something to do with my work computer. It's old and unprotected. My lap top and network on the mountain seems to be secure. My daughter had locked the network at my home so I think its safe. I had someone else check my page also cause I deactivated it so how its still up I'm not sure.
Beckxy-it says GOD'S not Hoe's? Really???? That flips me out more???? I plan to go over there next and try to change my password. The other night it wouldn't let me do anything not even delete the stupid post????
I know it may sound stupid but I get lonely on this mountain. Yes me! Don't get me wrong I got plenty of people I could call and they would come over but its one of those things I only let a few come to my home cause I'm funny like that. Alot of people I know I just don't want at my home cause I deal with the public 6 days a week and my home is my home.
Gonna to be a shitty day today. I am letting my 5 year employee go today :( Stupid kid but I feel it is time to part our ways once again.
HUGS TO ALL!
Viper.. I went onto your page to see.. and I do see where it says hoe's... I was looking to see if anything else looked out of place.. and nothing caught my eye.. but that really sucks. My brother's a wiz at computers and he tells me to stay off those games too due to viruses. Yet I don't listen very well. Hope it doesn't take much to get up and running again.
Yes, LV, I know the feeling. My son plays internet download games and he had some nasty virus called Cain and Abel from his XBox games..I downloaded it and it sent Viagra and sex stuff to everyone in my email address book (including my priest-how embarassing) I hope it is fixed now :( We have antivirus software but somehow they get around it, especially if it looks like a 'harmless' download.
Im still trying to remember how many BET me that Jessie and KATvon D would marry...if so hey Do the right thing...YAS OWES ME SOME MOOLAH ~ can I CALL EM or WHAT ;)
thats awful..but them hackers are good . they must of put a virus in somewhere . I saw that FB thing and thought you were speaking slang (something I never get) . It slowly getting not so fun the computer. thinking after august I may just pack it up and forget about it...most of the summer I have and I gotta tell ya having face to face conversations with real people OUT ROCKS any you have just on a computer. you actually smile more ~
Viper.. I'm so sorry to hear this : ( That's really messed up. Somebody hacked into the administrator of the Jason Krause fans fb site not that long ago either. I hope that you get everything fixed up and are back on again soon.
Sorry Lady Viper, my facebook got hacked also, not in the same way tho. My oldest used to keep all his financial info on his computer till he got hacked, they were only able to clean him out of 75 bucks cuz he is a poor college student. He got the money recovered, but is so sucks. People need to get a life and stop living behind a screen, screwing with other good people. I hope Karma bites this DB in the ass some day.
You coming on the cruise????
Sorry to hear about the hack job....sucksass
