    Was listening to the album COCKY this weekend, and now did I miss this reference in "Lay It On Me"?

    towards the end of the song he says:

    "I'd rather fuck to Foghat
    Lay it on me
    Yeah, I can make you shake
    Slow Ride it baby through the piano break"

    "Slow Ride" was a major hit for the British band, Foghat. so those lines are connected that way. I wasn't a huge Foghat fan so I just remembered "Slow Ride" now! :-)

That Police song, I used to sing Goo-goo Ga-Ga even though I knew it was Do Do...what a stupid song it was.

Hey Jade.... My younger sister and I had about a 2yr battle over a Police song once..... I ended up being right on that one...she was POSITIVE it was "Goo-goo-goo, Ga-Ga-Ga" ...everyone in the world knows it was "Do Do Do, Da Da Da"
I am pretty sure she was dropped on her head, so I forgave her...LOL
...but really, BOTH are pretty fukn retarded as song titles go...ya know?

I just listened to it again, just to be sure, Mrs. Cedar. I am absolutely positive about "through the piano break". It sounds clear to me, and then there is a piano solo right there so it makes sense as well.

the other is a little more murky. It really sounds like he says "like a Bang a Gong". but there is a bit of a grunt right before that... he could be saying "I like a Bang a Gong", but I can't say with certainty. If I get a chance I'll use some software to slow it down and see if I can hear it differently.

I grew up listening to Foghat, one of my favorite groups. Stone Blue was kinda my own class song 1980.

hm! not that I'm looking at it, a couple of lines up there is a line "Lay it on me, Like a Bang a Gong"

"Bang a Gong" is the title of a T.Rex hit song from 1971. It actually was originally titled "Get it On" but was retitled in American to avoid confusion with another song of the same name.

That whole section he's just riffing off of some other songs. very cool little homages in there.
