My name is Deb, I wrote the note to Kid Rock that he read at the Tempe Music Festival on Friday April 3rd. Here is what it said:
Your Music Changed My Life!
Almost 23 years ago, at the age of 21, I came to know the Lord. Unfortunately, I became one of those believers that judged everything & everyone, lining others up against a standard I had set of what was right and wrong. I lived this way for many years. Going to a Kid Rock concert was out of character for me, but about 8 years ago that is exactly what I did. As I stood there in the 9th row watching the strippers dancing in the cages, listening to the drug references and profanity flying, something happened that night that has drastically changed my life. You took a break between songs and began to speak to the audience. You spoke on loving our great country and loving our neighbors. I am well aware you probably have no recollection of what you said to the crowd that particular night but I will never forget it. In that moment of your heartfelt sharing, I sensed sincere and genuine love flowing from your heart toward the crowd.
The epiphany happened in a flash, as epiphanies do, as I saw that I had judged you incapable of such love because I judged right & wrong against my standard. I saw my legalism instantly and knew with intense conviction that I was the one without love. I left your concert that night a changed woman and an intensely devoted fan. I have everyone of your albums and Im pretty sure I have downloaded everything youve ever done thats out there onto my iPod. Proudly, I even wear a permanent (and sexy) Kid Rock tattoo across the small of my back. I got the tattoo for two reasons; 1) always reminding me to keep it real & love others 2) to pray every day for the man behind the music that has so incredibly blessed my life. Thank you!
I want you to have my license plate as a gift and a token of my eternal appreciation.
Your fan: Deb A.
Yes, A fan at the Tempe concert gave Rock an Arizona licence plate with his name on the front, and on the back she wrote a message to Rock on how he has impacted her life in a positive way.
Peace
Woody, I've been scouring the internet and have not found it either.
Rock's performance was amazing!!! I had a great time in Tempe. Wish I would have taped that portion of the concert.
were they from you?
Thanks for posting...
It was great!!! I had my 18 yr old son w/me, and he said he couldn't remember the last time he had seen me have that much fun! THANK YOU KID ROCK! Can't wait for the chance to see him again. Woody's review was right on the mark.
Thanks so much for posting that review. I can't wait to see him perform again!
That's a great review and they are right ...any band who wants to see how it should be done live can take a lesson from Kid Rock and Twisted Brown Trucker.
