KID ROCK: NEXT PRESIDENT NEEDS TO SMACK THE F--- OUT OF CONGRESS

    From Bllboard:

On Monday night (Nov. 5), Kid Rock once again voiced his support for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney at one final rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, before Tuesday's general election. Although the Detroit native has backed Romney since February, the singer-songwriter tells Billboard that his politics do not necessarily abide by party lines.

"It's no secret that I lean right in my politics," says the 41-year-old. "I'm supporting Mitt Romney, but as much as I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, let gay people get married if they want… That's not the fucking issue. And I think a woman should have a right to choose if she wants to have an abortion or not -- that's not up to anybody else.

Rock has stayed active on the campaign trail this year, introducing Romney and running mate Paul Ryan at multiple events after first publicly endorsing the GOP candidate at a Michigan rally last February. On Monday night, he performed "Born Free," the title track of his 2010 album, in New Hampshire before Romney took the stage.

However, Rock also makes it clear that, if President Barack Obama wins a second term, he'll earn the rock veteran's backing as well. Rock has already reached across the aisle for "Americans," a new short film created with actor and outspoken liberal Sean Penn, which leaked online last month.

"If people vote the other way, then I'll support our president, whoever's elected," Rock says. The real danger, according to the singer, is legislative gridlock. "More importantly, somebody's just gotta smack the fuck out of Congress and get them to start working together, and put this bullshit aside and get this country back on track."

Like "Born Free," "Rebel Soul," Rock's ninth studio album set for a Nov. 19 release, contains some political undertones amidst the joyous Americana and dazzling guitar riffs. First single "Let's Ride" is a military anthem that laments U.S. soldiers being "bruised and abused on some foreign soil," while on "3 CATT Boogie" he sings, "Banks hedging' bets for the next generation/And Wall Street's stirring up the whole situation."

For the veteran rocker, however, "Rebel Soul" is more "truthful" than overtly right-wing, especially within the lyrics that reference the armed forces. "If I ran those lyrics by the military, they wouldn't use them for anything," he says. "You run them by the kids that are out there in the fight, and they'll nod their heads and say, 'Yeah, that's right.' And that's what I did. Guys that work for me have done tours in Iraq and Afghanistan -- special ops guys that have been involved with all my travels over there. My thing's always been to keep it to what I believe is the truth, and what other people believe through first-hand experience through running it by them."

Sad to say there is still a lot of date rape going on out there, mostly because teenagers and alcohol is involved. One of the reasons why safe abortion facilities are necessary. I just cannot get with "make the best of it." However, just being a careless adult and going for multiple abortions......

I agree that abortion should be a womens choice, but I also agree with you, littleoldwtf, that it's total bs when people use abortion as a form of birth control-- instead of just protecting themselves in the first place. We need to keep the education out there, in hopes that young girls don't become pregnant in the first place, but when it does happen, these girls need a safe place to turn, to get the proper resources they need, and to be able to make the best decision for them. I had my son when I was fifteen. It by no means was an easy road, or something I wan't to see young girls do, but for me personally, it was the best choice I've ever made. I have no regrets. My son is now 31, and I have two beautiful grandsons that are almost 5 & 2. Damn I'm getting old.

as someone that talkd daily to the wall street suits they really think they are something ELSE STILL. i defer on the abortion discission, I think its both parties that have a say..they both made the baby after all. Ive seen it too many times to count a woman at 16 aborts NEVER able to have a baby because they went for a coathanger instead of real medical treatment, later in life looking at my life and what I sweated and bawled to create, telling me HOW lucky I AM...my response is even under pressure I'd have a brain and alittle backbone. NO the person I chose never asked me he was excited to be a parent but never the less with him or without him Id of had them...one instance just this year I knew of someone that got preggers and "just didnt want to be a mother" dummy its called a condom DER. some use abortion as birth control yeah the cruelest type of contraceptive on the planet. SOME do a abortion because of religion...WHAT PURESTS right they are the most falseys on the planet. religious RIGHT...yawn..Get a ABORTION save a FACE of our UPPERCRUST FAMILY...equals to me a good right hook to the BALLS ~

That's what alot of people just don't understand... It's about congress too, not just who is sitting in the presidents seat. It's critical that we all come together to better our country. I've been doing alot of thinking today, about what I can do on my part to help ensure that this happens. I vote for what I believe in, but honestly, other than that, I've never taken any extra steps to fight congress etc. My heart breaks for this fractured country, and I'm going to do whatever I can on my part to help mend it. I saw a site today called No Labels, and liked the name, so I clicked on it to check it out. They have some good ideas on what it might take to get congress talking. Go Check it out. www.nolabels.org/work
