On Christmas day, it seems I blew the engine on my car. I will be unloading my Kid Rock collectibles, Paradime Collectibles, and TBT Collectibles. My Car is going to cost me 3 Grand to repair, and I need all the funds I can to make sure I have a vehicle. Detroit was the birthplace of the middle class, an industrial utopia where anyone who worked hard enough could experience the American Dream. In the past three decades, the city has seen its might crumble as oil prices spiked, the auto industry declined and the middle class began to disappear. This new film chronicles the lives of several Detroiters trying to survive and make sense of what is happening to their city.
Once upon a time, a Kid Rock show in Detroit was something all my people wanted to go to. It was the cool thing to do, the cool place to be, a good time for all. Now my mom wants to go, my aunt calls for tickets, and my teachers from High School frequent the shows. Once upon a time, he was a devil without a cause, now he is all religous during his shows, making me feel as if he is a zealot without a cause. The lyrics and content used to be on the edge, its what made him who he is, now its pathetic and same ole same ole. Why do I hold on?
Recently I heard an ad on WRIF radio out of Detroit. The advertisement was for a bakery in Macomb, MI for a place called Gigi's Cupcakes. They have lots of flavors, including "Kentucky Bourbon" and "Red Stag". What caught my attention about the ad is that it said all profits from the sale of the Red Stag cupcakes go to the Kid Rock Foundation. I don't live close to Macomb and can't say if the place is any good, but I thought it was cool that the sales benefitted the Kid Rock Foundation!
