If I had a million Dollars..............
    Sal says (21 Sep '10)

I would say the hell with school or change my choice of degree to something I really want to do, not just to get a good job,(even tho it is something I want to do, just like the other one better)

This never ending remodeling on the house would be done in a month.

Instead of the little cruising boat we are going to buy it would be be a yacht.

My brothers would have some extra pocket change.

I would open up a no kill ranch for animals that were abused or abandoned by their owners.

hmmmm maybe i need more than a million?

I love working outside too, for the same reasons you do Sally...therapeutic. That said, I'm not as young as I use to be...some big ol boulders I pick up & set in a 2' or higher stone bed wall are getting to be too much, haha. I went rolling down a slope trying to manuever one last yr, haha...I won the battle in the end, lol. Stone work is good for the soul no doubt, especially when I use the mallot to tamp a stone in place, visualizing someone's face who has pissed me off, haha. ~kidding~ It is beneficial for letting out frustration through otherwise reserved aggression however, lol.

You know I take in all the stray dogs that show up at my house. Fortunately I've not had more show than I can handle or afford at once. I've literally spent thousands saving sick, neglected, abandoned dogs lives...some make it, some don't. Heartbreaking to say the least.

I also adopt from our local Humane Society, when I have 'room'. Dakota, Black Lab, is my most recent adoption yr & a half ago, he was 2 yrs old then. He's such a good & loveable dog, can't imagine why someone didn't want him. He was listed as 'urgent' for needing a home, had been at the 'low' kill shelter too long. If I didn't know better, would swear he knew what his grim future circumstances were prior to my adopting him...as to this day he appears so very grateful, haha.

We live within 15 miles of Lake Perry, one of KS's largest & most beautiful lakes. Non-commercialized shoreline, protected by the Corp of Engineer anti-building laws. That's where we've always boated in the past, & will boat again when we find the right vintage wood boat too.

I'm still working on finishing our house too, but even with the finances, wouldn't hire the majority finished by others...I'm too meticulous with detail & craftmanship, would rather do it myself & know it's right, than have to turn bitch towards someone who did it poorly, haha.

AH its so nice to dream. We have been playing back and forth with the boat idea a few years now, but I keep telling Mike the house has to be done first before we indulge in that, not really sure what we are going to get when we do. Your right Connie a yacht would be way too much, just a nice fishing boat with the lower deck on it and a canopy to get out of the sun.

I am very big on the animal thing too. There are so many animals that are neglected or just left by owners that if I could I would take them all in.

Personally with the house it would be nice to finally have it done, but I think I would keep the landscaping to myself still, I still love getting out there and playing with the beds and planting things all the time, makes me feel alive and is my meditation time, so when I have things troubling me or issues that I can't figure out I go out there for a few hours and just pull and plant and dig and it refreshes me.

I would invested it in "The Joint in the Woods" and save this awesome historical Rock and Roll Venue from the wrecking ball and bring it back to life. More info on My Page check it out! I welcome any feed back. Peace!

Oh thats easy. I tell the new owner of my dad's house"when I win the lottery..." well, he's done fixing it up and is flipping it for 325K Huz and I have watched the wonderful progression inside and out. I'd buy my dad's house back and the rest set aside for the boys in trust accounts. After a lot of time researching it w/ the historical society it has been deemed the only building first built and still existing in the historic town 1747. It would be willed to the town for a museum outside the Fort #4

I like the no kill facily idea, for sure.

I would take care of my family and close friends. Whatever they may need or want.

Oh but to dream...'If' I had a million dollars...I would sadly have to face reality that it isn't going to go as far as it once did, being my sometimes 'too sensible' self, haha. Yeah, you'd need more than a million to fullfill your fantasies Sal, so I'm gonna take it up a few dollars, haha.

'IF' I won a multi million lottery, lets say at least 10 million...I too would build a no kill facility for dogs & cats. I would also contribute to canine research to find a cure for such things as canine siezure disorders. By this point no doubt, considering today's economy, I'm down to about 5 million, haha.

Since agricultural zoning laws prohibit me from allowing my adult children to build homes near me on our 80 acres of land...I would buy more land near us, help my kids to build their dream homes within reason & feasibility. As far as our home, it could use a few changes, would definitely hire a landscape architect to finish the landscaping...my body & hands are tiring of stone & mortar work, haha.

Down to 4 million, I would give each family member & close friend I know would use it wisely...a hundred thousand each. Down to 2 million, would reserve it for it a rainey day, possibly invest safely, which is difficult to do now days.

As far as boats...I prefer simple & quiet recreational activity, so no yacht for me. Boats IMO are one of those recreational pleasures 'less is more' comes to mind. Ever owned a yacht? Me neither, haha, but have known a couple people who did. Total pain in the ass, unless you're a multi millionaire, can afford to hire someone to do the constant maintenance, & hire a captain & crew, haha. Also have to consider the extremely expensive docking/storage fees when not in use.

We've boated on/off our entire lives. We're currently looking for a vintage wood hull boat, 22' Chris Craft or Century with a small amount of restoration needed, but water ready...similar to Kid's 'Cowboy' boat. That's my ide
