I feel like writing (Cruise Summary)
That Guy says (23 Apr '11)

Well, I have taken the last few days to allow my body to rest, my mind to heal, and to just think about the craziness, action personified, and pure genius that was the Kid Rock Chillen the Most Cruise 2. I am going to break this down and give you a play by play through my eyes, ears, and of course my big fuckin mouth. What you are about to read will start from the minute me and my buddy Rick left my driveway, right up until we arrived back in that very same driveway. I will try to include some of the most funny, sad, traumatizing, eventful, and of course memorable moments. I will try to include some of the people I came across, but hope that nobody is offended if I do not mention them. I am going to break this into Chapters, and every word I type, is copyrighted by Beats At Will Entertainment, any copying, reproduction, or satire based off of what I write is subject to a lawsuit with my permission.

Chapter 1 - Headin to The Big Easy

It was a beautiful day in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. It seemed as if a few birds had returned North in the last few days as chirping could be heard, along with the sights of lil bunnies and squirrels playing, hot milfs walking their dogs, and of course old people prepping their lawns. Yes, spring has arrived, but this was not just any average spring day, this was the day in which Ricky (I refuse to call him romeo ever again) were preparing for our drive down to New Orleans. I have a busy life, and I tell people this all the time, but I think Ricky was able to see it first hand, as I spent the day from about noon til 730pm running around Detroit, but when I arrived back at my house, I looked at Rick and said "get ready, we're leaving in 20 mins"

We got the car packed up, I gave no second thought to anything besides my meds, my Birth Certificate and my driver's license. I knew those were the important materials, everything else could be obtained one way or another. We rolled out the drive, called up Dime, and alerted him we were on the road. We stopped by Dime's crib to say goodbye to Brew, but more importantly to grab some CD's. While this was out of our way, it was important to have CD's so that all of the people on the cruise could have an opportunity to listen to something besides the hillbilly shit that they were gonna be force fed every show, and almost everywhere they went. Ok, just kidding, but there were plenty of hillbillies. We will discuss that a bit later, gotta stay on point.

Finally, after all days activities were done, we scooped the CDs, we were on the road. Ricky and I have been friends for years upon years, but 18 hours in a car with anyone could, has, and will test friendships. We started out listening to music, talking, and telling jokes. I know, most of you are saying "what else you gonna do in a car" to that I have many answers, but refuse to share. Anyways, we were a bit worried about the trip, all weather reports airing as we left my home showed terrible storms passing right along our path, but I assured Rick all would be fine, and they were. We discussed music, favorite songs, bands, singers, and as we discussed, I was flipping channels on the radio, and miraculously kept stumbling on the same songs or bands we had previously talked about. It was honestly becoming to look like a phenomenon, and in the back of my mind, I was expecting something bad to happen. Nothing bad happened, we drove 16 hours straight into Southern Alabama (I THINK) finally around Noon, we stopped, got a hotel room, and slept the rest of the day. We got up around 7pm, went and got a bite to eat, where I met a cute little waitress, I decided to kick off my weekend with some out of town grits, so I invited her to the room after she got off work (9pm). She came through, we had a few drinks, and within an hour I was introducing her to Detroit, and she was showing me some Southern Hospitality.. Time was of no concern, I knew we only had a 3 hour drive in the morning, Ricky passed out with his ear plugs, and good for him, cause... well....  I finally looked at the clock, realized it was 1am, and told her she was gonna have to get going, cause we had to get some sleep, and that was that.. I forget her name, but she was fun...

We woke up around 9am, and jumped into the newly cleaned car, and started the last 3 hours of our drive to New Orleans. Everything was still going well, signs started popping up, 63 miles to New Orleans, 52 Miles to New Orleans, and I dont know if it was simply the excitement of being so close, or if I was just not paying attention, but I looked in the rear view, seen an SUV with Lights on top of it, and looked down at the speedomoter and realized I was going about 85 in a 70. I did what any smart driver would do, I signaled to the right lane, never hitting brakes, and hopped homey would pass. Unfortunately, he did not, he hopped over to the left too, and turned his lights on. I immediately pulled over, and awaited my fate. The cop was a younger dude, and when he stepped to the window, his words exactly "well,a few things" to which I quick retorted, speeding being one of them. I am sorry sir, I looked down and realized I was going a little fast, and I think its just excitement, and the fact there are barely any cars around, i just got carried away. He asked what we were so excited about, I explained we were heading to the Kid Rock cruise, and at that point he invited me into his truck. Now, I have never been pulled over and asked into a cop car, but even worse, he warned me he had a dog, and not to be scared if dog barked (of course, if dog barked, it would mean said dog smelled something funny) but the dog was silent, and me and cop talked about Kid Rock, how he liked Kid's older music better then his new, and I told him how I managed Kid Rock's DJ, and that the CD's I have are very much like Kid's older music. He was intrugued, and I grabbed him a CD. He wrote me up a warning for speeding, and told us to have a good day.. I am telling you, the ride to New Orleans was perfect. We drove the remaining 50 miles, found a sweet hotel, checked in, and then made our way to Bourbon Street.....

Lucky you for not getting a speeding ticket. 9 times out of 10 if you get pulled over going that fast down south your ass gets strapped with a ticket... Nice read though.

Sounds fun so far. Maybe one of these years i will make the cruise. Beginning to think it would be good to know the dates way in advance each year. Flying would probably be more to my liking unless i got one of my like minded friends to want to go. Flying would probably cost less, and take a heck of a lot less time. Although road trips can be fun....
