why isn't the tour coming to Las Vegas?
There have been many fan club members questioning the history of TBT band members, as well as that of Kid Rock. So...rather than make an error in facts from my memory alone...I did some Googling to be sure of facts stored in my brains memory, haha...which is aging daily & can be wrong at times, lol.
This info below is from Wikipedia (my memory wasn't too bad, other than I couldn't remember some original TBT band members names, I had the timeline down pretty good for when each current member joined TBT, haha).
Twisted Brown Trucker
Twisted Brown Trucker is Kid Rock's band, formed in 1994, with Bob Ebeling in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The original lineup included Kenny Olson on lead guitar, Uncle Kracker on turntables, Andy Gould and Greg Metropolous on guitar, Paul Anthony on bass and Bob Ebeling on drums. The band's first involvement was on the 1994 demo of Dark & Grey on his Bootleg Series Tapes, they would make three more appearances on the tapes in Watch Me Come, Only A Dog and Box #10. Trucker became both Rock's studio and live band in 1997. Dubbed by Kid Rock as "The Loudest Band In America Today", they are well known for their hodge-podge of genres, sometimes mixing many in a single song. Both lead gutairist Kenny Olsen and Kenny Tudrick would leave due to money altercations with Rock. They were replaced by Marlon Young who was in the band for a year in 1996, before leaving to pursue his own ventures.
Chris Peters was the studio guitarist for The Polyfuze Method and Fire It Up. Matt O Brien (Bass) and Kenny Tudrick (Guitar, Drums) were studio musicians for Devil Without A Cause. Lastly Rayse Biggs (trumpet) was a studio musician for Kid Rock and Rock N Roll Jesus. Also various members of the jazz/funk band Howling Diablos have helped out on many of the jazz inspired songs including Martin 'Tino' Gross, Jeff Grand, and Johnny Evans.
Kenny Olson went on to form a band called The Flask, who later switched singers and changed their name to Five Star Carnie. They are derivative of Kid Rock's old sound mixing rap with rock and blues.Kenny Tudrick is with the band Detroit Cobras who he was with before touring on Kid Rock's 'Live' Trucker tour.
Percussionist Larry Frantangelo won a Detroit Music Award in 2009 for Outstanding Urban/Funk Musician.

wow look at you and your
wow look at you and your research--good job! thank you connie jo
Sorry, RJL, I just saw you
Sorry, RJL, I just saw you were thinking the same as me...great minds and all LOL! I didn't mean to usurp your thread...my sincere apologies :)
Looking at the lists.. I can
Looking at the lists.. I can remember our first show in Philly, @ the electric factory. Powerman 5000 opened up (great show)... Mike Bradford was on the bass. Kracker was on the turntables. That night Joe C was sick so we didn't get to see him... but a year later at Montage Mountain we did. Enjoying the shows ever since.. good times!
I can tell you've been a long
I can tell you've been a long-time, steadfast, and loyal fan, Beckxy...so you've been seeing Kid shows since 1998ish?
We started hearing about them
We started hearing about them on Philly rock radio (Bullgod) during the later part of 1998... but Oct,1999 was the first show.... so many good times with lots of friends met along the way. I know I'm on repeat a lot of the time... but what an awesome ride it's been so far, Montana. Our life had been forever changed the day we stepped foot in that venue... 'if ya feel it... it's real' It's been real :) What caught your ears, Miss Montana?
I like your repeat :) Please.
I like your repeat :) Please...continue, it's nice to hear good things about Kid, TBT, and fans and friends along the way. I love hearing your stories, your experiences, your thoughts...thanks for sharing :) I am so happy for your awesome ride! :) In retrospect, as I remember certain things more clearly, Kid has tickled my ears all along...I remember the Welcome 2 the Party MTV video like it was yesterday...I remember Picture...I remember Cowboy...he was always with me, I just didn't know it...not until Nov. 12, 2010 when I felt him perform at the 44th CMA's. I remember from the opening notes, I was impressed with how he started quietly on piano and then kicked it...my tickled ears were perked. And then came his "if you can't see my heart you must be blind"...BOOM...that was it...my ears were happily caught and I'm a lifer now :) Kid was always kickin' it all the way along. I just finally woke up...he came into my conscious like nothing ever before...my life has been forever changed and that night made all the difference. :)

Anyone have other info, thoughts, or knowledge? :)
Marlon is an amazing songwriter! He did leave the band for awhile and eventually became the lead guitarist for the Truth which backed Ty Stone. Then after Kenny left he filled in for a few shows before being asked to officially join again as the lead guitarist for T.B.T.
I know! I didn't realize Marlon had briefly played with TBT in the past either! I learned something new! haha I knew Bobby East had many times, but sure didn't know Marlon did back in 1996!
Wiki is accurate with the timeline and members of TBT, but it's not accurate with the 'main' reason Kenny left TBT...there was more to Kenny making the decision to leave TBT than simply money. I hate it when media sources speculate due to hearing one or two bit's of info, true or false. There are always two sides to every story, and the way Wiki is making it sound makes both Kenny & Kid appear to be shallow, depending upon how you perceive the false Wiki claim. It wasn't as simple as money for either man.
Actually, I figured as much and I don't know these people at all. Wiki is wrong on so many things, and I just don't believe a lot of stuff like this... too gossipy.
Wow!!
Thanks for pointing that out AnnieBo, i must have skimmed right over that humungous tidbit of information!!
I need to become a better reader. Whoda thunk that KR.com would be able to help me in that aspect!!
And yea, isnt that interesting, Marlon was with the band briefly in 96. The man is a beautiful song writer, i guess he wanted to go off and do his own thing, who could blame him!
Anyway, im glad their together now
Oh wow I just noticed, Marlon did play for a bit way back then.
ohh cool thanks for posting this Connie.....and of course i didn't notice it before I replied in the other thread, so I guess this could answer all questions lol.
You're welcome! I don't make a habit out of sharing such, as I don't want to appear as one boasting, so to speak, but...sometimes the right place & right time bring the shared memories of friendships forward, & it feels appropriate for discussion...then I'll share.
The truly special person is the young man who is a beloved mutual friend of mine & Kenny's. He is the one of which connects our friendships together.
As far as me being special, lol...well, my own 'special' friends seem to think I'm special, haha. There's a few in everyone's life though who don't think one is so special...I'm no exception, I gotta a couple of enemies, LOL. They're deserving of such though, cause I rarely consider any one an enemy, hahaha. :)
Wow! That is great. I love the pictures. You must be a pretty special person for friends to do something like that. Thanks for sharing.
An ironic Kenny O story, haha. A few years back...I was sharing the music, and burning CD-R's for fans at a different Kid Rock related website. One of the CD-R's I was burning included some Kid Rock tracks in my collection, that were recorded over the years, but never released. One of those tracks was a studio recording of Seger's 'Turn The Page'...Kid Rock & others, including Kenny on guitar. Well, Kenny got wind that I had this track in my collection...and he didn't even know it had been archived and existed! So, I burned him a copy too, LOL...he was very excited and grateful! How unreal is that, hahaha.
I tend to agree...no bimbo's for Kenny's taste in women! haha
Yeah, I think I remember that discussion you started about Kenny O, but didn't remember who started it.
And it just hit me!! I am the one that started a discussion entitled "Whetever happened to Kenny Olson?" Daaaa!!!
Kenny didnt think the waitresses in hooters were goodlooking enough!
My God, the man is picky!
The girl in the pic is pretty, Kenny just doesnt like bim-boes!
No, I've not had the privilege yet to see Kenny's Hendrix Tribute show. He keeps saying and promising one of these days he'll come to Kansas City and do a show, but so far he's not been able to. I'm still hoping he will one of these days though!
He has many irons in the fire...his production company he formed in partnership with Shannon, The Scorpio Brothers, and then his own band interests, as well as playing for other bands, and also is in the recording studio A LOT playing guitar for bands such as Big n Rich, Cheryl Crow, etc...
Yes and no...to Kenny supporting St. Judes. Kenny supports them emotionally and physically mostly, & if he can financially of course. He's not wealthy like Kid Rock, but Kenny does what he can, when he can supporting St. Judes and any charity for that matter. I don't consider myself lucky with relationship to Kenny, rather an honor. :)
While in Memphis we toured St. Judes Hospital as well, and Kenny met with many of the patients and their parents. He's a very special man, and has a HUGE heart of gold!!
Here's a pic of us in the hotel room Friday night, I think it was around 1 AM when they knocked on my door to surprise me, hahaha. DORKS!! Needless to say I was not ready...in my sleep t-shirt, no make up, hair a mess, hahaha. I didn't care though, we had a blast!
In this pic below...we went in to Hooters on Beale Street, Kenny took a look, told us nope, he didn't think the waitress' were good looking enough, hahaha...this is in HOOTERS mind ya! I was starving by the time Kenny finally decided on a BBQ place, hahaha. He also doesn't like restaurants that look 'dirty' and not maintained well.
I took this pic inside the BBQ place Kenny finally chose to eat lunch at, hahaha. The girl in the pic is one of the waitress'...haha:
Here is Kenny visiting some patients and parents at St. Judes Hospital...we visited there first on Saturday, then went on to Beale St
Wow Connie Jo!! You are so lucky!!!
Have you ever been to one of Kenny O's Jimmi Hendrix tribuite shows?
Isnt Kenny a supporter of The St Jude Hospital? I thought i remember that being talked about on here.
I donate to St Judes through United Way, just a few dollars a week. It gets directly withdrawed through my paycheck. My Company, UPS is a big supporter of United Way, and St Jude is one of the charitys you can direct your money to.
So i do $2.50 to St Judes, and $2.50 to an organization called 'Woman against Abuse' a shelter for battered women in Philadelphia.
Its five bucks a week, its not much, but its a little something.
And yes,Kenny was a WAY more enereetic stage presense than Marlon!!!
Marlon has some excellent song writing skills though.
I want to add...that I know for a fact that Wiki is WRONG when it comes to money differences being the 'main' reason Kenny Olson left TBT...however, it's not my place to elaborate as to the reasons...the reasons are between Kid and Kenny, and that's where they should remain.
I'm very partial to Kenny O for personal reasons, and consider him a friend. Kenny holds a special place in my heart, and a beloved mutual friend holds a place in both of our hearts. Kenny & that mutual friend surprised me in Memphis last year for my birthday...came knocking on my hotel room door, woke me up to party, hahaha. We then spent the weekend hanging out in Memphis, Kenny took us out to lunch...and I'll tell ya, that dude is PICKY where he'll eat, hahaha. We walked up & down Beale Street & then some before he decided on a place to eat that was suitable...he wanted to be sure the waitress' were attractive too, LOL.
I have nothing at all against Marlon, and enjoy him on stage too, he's a talented guitarist and song writer without any question...but, Kenny's guitarist personality is more energetic than Marlons, making him IMO more entertaining to watch...Kenny got wild on the stage, became one with his guitar each & every performance. Kenny ROCKS!!
Kenny O :(
I miss Kenny O :(
His 'Trucker Anthum' solo at Camden NJ Tweeter Ctr. a few years back is one of the coolest things i ever expierenced in my life, and i will be eternally grateful to him for that memory.
But i also love the current line up.
David M on sax, Jessica and Stacey singing back up.
Two thumbs up Mr Rock!! Two thumbs way up!!!!
