Hawkeye’s Grill & Pub is a place where honesty, forgiveness and family are core values. At the start, most employees would never imagine they would ever call a workplace a home, but many eventually do. As our employment here may reach its end, we realize that this establishment’s challenging yet enlightening five years has offered invaluable life experience and lessons.
So many employees have come and gone, but many have returned. Our boss, Paul Williams, has his hot-headed moments, as all bosses do, but he has become a big brother to many of his past and present employees. He has shown incredible compassion and forgiveness by welcoming old employees back again and again as they’ve faced challenges throughout their lives. There is an unbelievable sense of family in this establishment that is hard to find in this world.
Nearly every employee at Hawkeye’s is a born and raised Irish Hills resident. You probably know us, our families, or our friends. We graduated from your schools, live in your town and we love to serve the community that has shaped us.
We work hard, we disagree, we make up and we celebrate our accomplishments together. Now, as families often do, we are facing an enormous challenge. We will soon have to close our doors forever if we cannot gather our community’s support. Rather than quietly closing the business, as we’ve seen other small businesses do, we’ve resolved to enlist these core values to save our restaurant. We are applying the resilience, dedication and allegiance we’ve learned here to help save our business. We’ve decided to openly and honestly ask our family and community for forgiveness and help.
