"Kidrock open letter of thanks to the man himself"
This is my fb friend Amy Jack. She lives in Toronto Canada,a huge kidrock fan, and is coming to detroit for the August 17th 2013 show at D T E. She and I have never met, but we will on that day.
I would love to help her make her dream come true, to meet Mr. Rock.
I strongly believe that,
"Before you do it for yourself, do it for someone else, that makes it real!
Thankssssss,
Christine Carpenter
There's no reason to work for the man in this wonderful country of ours. Just met with my husbands , now my business partner to go over the details of the new company . He and my spouse ave been working on patents for sometime and he's has quite a few and other ventures and seeing how he has some free time now we decided upon our venture of passive income bringing in about 15 g a day to start. I'm gonna be busy doing the marketing portion since I have all the contacts until it gets going and off the ground and then well, fishing, writing a few songs.
Comic books and rubber bands, climbing through the tree tops, falling down and holding hands, tricycles and red pop...
remember the good ole days...Boblo Island, coming home when the street lights went on, riding bikes all day...Detroit, the whole world in fact, has so many problems. I want to be a kid again.
How is anyone gonna fix it all? God bless those who are brave enough to try.
Video, agree with you. When Coleman Young took office he declared a line between 8 Mile and the suburbs. I think that really started the downward spiral. Detroit will always have a democrat mayor, but in my opinion, Dennis Archer ( a moderate) started to change things, then Kwame was elected and brought the city into ruins. Now we have Mayor Bing, (a moderate) much like Archer. He wants to bring change but he has to fight with the city council all the time
@ RedWing, I am not pro union, they have a place but not the power that they had in the 70's, 80's and 90's. I saw early on, the outrageous demands made, free medical, free optical, free legal advise, etc etc etc. But the big 3 gave into their demands, so the blame is on both sides of the street. I also voted for Snyder and is glad he is in office. I also see all the pissing and moaning about the cuts, No Shit Sherlock, we got ourselves into this, we have to get ourselves out.
there is /was so much corruption in detroit it isnt funny. all the way from union reps to the politicians. the people of detroit never had a chance from the time coleman young took office until they dragged kwammee out in chains. hopefully the newest mayor mr bing can do something positive.
I agree Angel, like I said, I can't disagree with him in what he said, (once I watched the full version) only the way he presented it. Hiroshima was not the right metaphor to use IMO. Totally different situations.
The unions are not what they use to be. They were implemented to protect workers not bleed companies dry, which they have done for years now. Believe me, I come from a Ford Family thru and thru. My dad and all his brothers work for Ford. The greedy employees have drained the companies with outrageous demands. That would not be a popular opinion to most of my family either, since Ford is who puts food on their tables. But they are not extremists either that want something for nothing. My family works hard and are not slackers. They have voted and advocated for taking less from the company to help keep the company strong and keep their jobs. My dad taught us value's and work ethics, not to stand with our hands out and a chip on our shoulder thinking were owed something for our mere existence and the decisions WE made to do with our own lives.

We have needed a change of government here for a long time. The people of Michigan finally got it and voted in a Conservative Governor, but now they cant handle the way he is doing things either. If you vote for change, you have to stand by change and give it a chance!
As far as a mayor of Detroit, you will not see a Conservative in office in your lifetime. The masses that still live in Detroit have their hands out and won't let that be taken away from them. Generation after Generation lives off welfare and will continue to do so. Welfare recipients breed more welfare recipients, that is just the norm here. It's not all their fault, it's all they know. I was on welfare for a short time when I had my first born and lived in Detroit. Let me tell you, it was very hard to get off of and do w/out. I struggled, but I did it!! Your stuck btwn a rock and a hard spot so to speak. You get a job making minimum wage, and your income level is just enough to go over their requirements so you loose your food stamps, health care etc. Welfare is a crutch, always has been always will be.
Ok, I don't usually talk politics and have said more than I prolly should have. But it is how I feel and I really don't see change coming to Detroit by Detroit residents. I know there are some really hard workers still left in the city, but the numbers don't lie, the scale is so unbalanced and until that is fixed, change is just a dream.
Well I didnt watch his whole thing just the news cast version but as Unpopular as this is gonna be. I think he's RIGHT ON. I do believe the demo left wing gov ran the city into the dirt. And I do believe the Big 3 and Unions were greedy and let the companies die.
Detroit will come thru this and be great again. just hope they get some Conservative money makers runnin the show!
Cinda, it's like kicking a kid in trouble when he is trying to do all the right things. What is the point. I think I know the point, that douchecanoe, (to borrow a phrase from Angel) is all about ratings.
Thing that made me so mad is when GM was one his sponsors a few years ago, He loved the company. Plus THE BANKS GOT THE BAILOUT, they don't have to pay the money back. GM and Chrysler got loans and are well ahead of the timeline in paying them back.
Also if anyone thinks for a second in this fine country that you don't owe your lifestyle to Detroit, think again. If they didn't retool our factories during WWII for military vehicles, we would not have won the war, and everyone's life would be drastically different.
One more thing, Hiroshima was bombed, then the US came in and helped rebuild it, and I'm pretty sure some of the fine US citizens helping in the process were from the D and Michigan.
Sorry for the rant, Michigan and Detroit have made some horrible decisions, we are trying to correct them, get off our backs, ya Wankers.
After watching the whole thing instead of just what was reported on local news...I can't say I totally disagree with everything he says here either. He is spot on in more than one part of the video, it for me is the way he presented it! It was done in a negative way (for shock value, I'm sure) which is only gonna bring negative feelings to the table. A whole bunch of people are going to take this personally (just like I did) and not see past the negative presentation! Not to mention the way the news stations presented it to us either. I'm sure he got tons of hate mail from Detroit today!
He blasted the politics, the unions, Ford, Gm....compared our city to Hiroshima!! I do watch Beck at times an quite honestly I agree with him on a whole lot of topics. This one, not so much. He didn't have accurate facts to spout the crap he brazenly put out there! Ford never took a federal bail out loan, they got outta the hole all on their own! etc etc etc.....watch for yourself!
@videoace001 remember Olympia? (I saw John Denver with Starlight Vocal Band there when I was in the 6th grade)
thats funny rock because my grandmother used to take us kids down to hudsons just for that lol
@videoace001 add Downtown Hudson's with the elevator ladies and meeting Santa Claus there.
if your a real detroiter and your old enough you would remember edgewater park. the good ole days

I was lucky to attend Kid Rocks birthday bash at Ford Field...a detroit love fest!!!! He makes me proud!!!
glen beck is on the national Fox channel. Don't know when he comes on. I don't listen to extreme right or extreme left rhetoric.
Also I wasn't calling anyone here Wankers, just all the D bashers.
