Michigan is a treasure trove of real beauty when you look at the geological structures and abundance of crystals and minerals. Kat, if you ever decide to mount an expedition, let me know. Connecticut is decent too. Found some black tourmaline (?) that sold hefty at auction in a quarry dump pile. Along the gas line cut, gem quality emerald. Just need to be patient and look carefully. Love it.

well it would be cheaper gas wise to go to michigan to search but IDK..thinking about mining for sapphires in montana or diamonds in arkansas...once I get to breathing better that trip to the bars with the bachelorette party did me NO favors...its been since sept and I am getting worse. gasp..gasp...I know now why my dad quit singing funny I had to experience it to discover what a trial and tribulation that would be. Cool Kat, thanks. It's my new love surpassing the agates because it was man-made by the auto industry. Working on getting the equiv in polymer clay, but it needs to be baked multiple times and sanded buffed to a high gloss finish to match the real deal. Plus if you wear fordite, due to the glass paint origin, it absorbs the heat of your body and gives it back when you are chilled. Too cool.
