Would have loved the chance to be there. A girlfriend and I would have flown down for the weekend. What a shame the audience was filled with folks who didn't have the context to fully appreciate it. I have to hope that the folks who weren't his fans at the start of the night are now. Thanks for sharing everybody!
Cool! Im glad you all had a good time. Wish I could have gone...but didn't have the funds, so I didn't even try for a place.
Too bad that they had "fillers" in there, especially since some fans tried to get tickets but were denied. Glad I didn't attempt to go...I would have been pissed if i had been denied and then heard they had fillers there....lol
Glad some here got to go. Can't wait to see it!
I was there, also. It was awesome. I was on the second row. I was disappointed that we didn't get to ask our questions. I can't complain, though. As always he did an awesome show. I can't wait until the next opportunity to see him in east TN.
All we were told was "around Thanksgiving"
does anyone know when they are going to air it on VH1 ?
Woo hoo! I was there! Along with "kid rocks chic", lol. I agree with Ed, it was disappointing that the majority of the audience that was there were placed by the casting company. HOWEVER, It was a GREAT performance, even in the balcony we were close enuff that we could have carried on a conversation with him! I couldnt believe he played as long as he did! A girlfriend rode in with me as a "co pilot) (we are outside ATL) and she actually ended up being brought in off of the 'back up list', so i was really happy about that. I met some GREAT people that i met off of this site! It was an incredible nite. One of our friends had been picked to ask a question, got all psyched about it, and then there was no time to ask questions! I'm not sure what happened, but i know she was really disappointed... she had a great question! All in all, i would do it again, and felt extremely LUCKY to be one in the small handful of people that were actually Kid Rock fans! Woo Hoo!
I was also disapointed in the crowd being placed by the casting company. I know they want a lot of pretty people in the audience but there were plenty of good looking fans there too. There were women and men all around me on the baloncy that were just college students who weren't fans. After the show we went down to Broadway in hopes of finding him partying down there, with no luck. I drove home after that and got in at 5:30 am...been a while since I was out til 5am hee hee. The show was fantastic and he looked rested and goregous as usual!
I just got back the the Storyteller's taping in Nashville.
Ok, let me start by saying Kid put on an AWESOME show! 2 1/2 hours of music with no intermission! My sister-in-law was also supposed to ask a question so we were seated second row on the left hand side facing the stage, right where Kid came up and down from the stage. Fantastic seats. There were a total of about 250-300 people in the audience. He did a great job, sang a ton of songs including some i didn't expect like Leroy Brown by Jim Croce, This Little Light of Mine (Let it Shine), and America the Beautiful! He also sang a cut from his next album. He said he hadn't finished the entire song yet but played what he had, it's called "Midwest Fall". So those along with Cocky, Bawitdaba, Picture, All Summer Long, Half Your Age, What I Learned Out On The Road, Cowboy, Blue Jeans, Roll On, Devil Without a Cause, If I Were President, Amen, Lowlife and a few other. Not in that order.
I have just one complaint. The audience. I talked to quite a few people who weren't even Kid Rock fans, they had been called in by the casting company just to fill the seats. It was obvious at times cuz some of the people in the front row didn't even know the words to the songs. I had four people right in font of me (front row) and none of them had even heard any Kid's songs besides All Summer Long. Some people I met while in line who were big fans ended up in the balcony. I just think the casting company could have done a much better job filling the seats with true Kid Rock fans. I'm not sure but I think at time Kid was a little disappointed by the reaction of some the fans. Cameras were all over the place so I am curious to see the finished product after all the edits.
Overall, FANTASTIC show and I would drive the 5 hours again in a heartbeat to have the opportunity to see him again. The backup singers Stacey, Jessie and Silver were also great, they all have fantastic voices.
