First Installment of Dear Kid Rock!
Current mood: exhausted
Dear Kid Rock: I know you must be thinking....who the hell is this crazy person writting me these letters In short, I am your biggest fan.. Now, Im a member of the Kid Rock Congregation and Im sure there are people out there who have seen more shows than me, maybe been backstage or traveled further than I, but no one, can match my admiration. I have decided to write these letters to you on a monthly basis, just as though we were friends because, I know that if you knew me, we would be. I am such a believer in what I perceive as your philosphy and have always seen the good in you despite what anyone else says. I wanted to use this blog to give you my opinion on things that I hear and read about you if thats ok. I thought this might give you some insight on what your fans say about the happenings in your life that all too often get played out in the media. All the buzz was happening when you punched that guy at the Waffle House but media attention was about 1 day when you returned to raise money for the Nicholas home. What a great cause and I wish everyone would have but more emphasis on that trip down Waffle lane..... Ok, lets just get the whole Pam thing out of the way so we can move on....I was all for it when you married her because I have seen and heard enough about your relationship to know you loved her. I like any fan who truely supports you was happy for you but cautious. Ill admit that shes what every man wants and what every woman wishes she looked like but she just seems so fake. I was afraid that she would break your heart.....I hope that shes smarter than what she portrays. I enjoyed seeing pictures of you two together and had best wishes for you. Now that its over, I am glad and know that shell get whats coming to her....she is already....really, a Vegas magicians assistant....ha! far cry from being Kid Rocks wife....Good job on the Half your Age thing....payback is a mother....I also loved Stephaines verson, I bet she keeps you in check a lot! Ok, now on to Tommy. I was a huge Motley Crue fan when I was younger and have personally witnessed some amazing feats performed by Tommy Lee. I will say that I think hes an amazing drummer, one of the best...excluding Stephanie of course, but when your wrong, your wrong. Hes a 10 year old boy trapped in a 40 something mans body. He recently wrote in to a small newspaper here in Knoxville commenting on your scuffle. He should just let well enough alone. I mean, how many people really read that magazine and how the hell did he hear about it. He completely denied it like a school yard bully. Oh and I have seen the picture of him bleeding posted on some pages but thats ok....let him rant, it just makes him look more and more like he deserved it. I even read his book a couple years ago and was appalled at the comments he (and she) made about you.....ignorant bitches. In one of these letters, Im thinking of telling you why some of your music has touched me specifically, but for now I just want to tell you that you have been a source of rejuvenation for me. Whenever Im pissed, theres a song for me, when Im hurt, lonely, angry or deeply in love....I can always find a lyric or a tune that makes me feel good. I have converted many friends to avid KR fans and will continue to do so. I always buy whatever album is coming out on the day it goes on sale and whenever possible I travel for concerts. Currently I have seen you live 7 times in 3 states but my ultimate KR experience would be to see you at home in Detroit. I have this weird fascination with Detroit that Ill talk about more someday. I always wanted to tell you a story that involves you that is precious to me. My son is 10 years old and he is as big a fan as I. I never shielded him from your lyrics, life isnt always pretty. I think parents sometimes distort real life so much that when a kid grows up they are shocked at how hard and dirty life can be. One day I picked Dylan up from daycare and his teacher met me at the door. She directed me to a bulletin board and asked me to see if I could find a star on the board that represented Dylan. Each star had favorites listed in each arm of the star...things like, my favorite food....pizza, favorite color...blue and so on. At the bottom was my favorite song is.....most read, twinkle twinkle little star or some other kiddy song. But the last one I read said....my favorite song is: MY NAME IS KIIIIIIDDDD ROCK ROCK! I knew right away and said....THATS MY BOY!!! Teacher wasnt so happy but I thought it was hilarious and promptly took Dylan out for special ice cream. Thank you for that moment. It was one Ill never forget. Well, Im going to close this first installment of my Dear Kid Rock letter by telling you that Im amazed at how far youve come and how far your going. Each album, video or whatever you do gets better and better. Im getting older and a lot of that early stuff was great then but Im slower now and hopefully smarter. Its a pleasure to watch your music continue to develop and just continue to get better. I love the new tunes more and more everyday and wish you nothing but continued success. "Lifes been good to me so far, hope its been kind to you!" Good luck and God Bless, Your devoted Fan, (and future BFF) hee hee BJ
