I have a question for those that have done the cabbage soup diet. I know you're supposed to eat it through out the day, but do you eat cabbage soup for breakfast too? I've been trying to lose a few pounds & I'd like to try it, but I don't know if I could eat it for breakfast..gotta have my cereal.

I've taken the past 2 days off. Sick for the first time in 5 years...It's just a cold, but I feel yucky nonetheless. I may try to walk a little on the treadmill today just to get some energy back. I seem to think a little light exercise will help boost my system...
Also have been getting compliments on my shrinking size...Yippee!

Hi Roxy,
Here is the recipe courtesy of Just Because (Toni):

Cabbage Soup Diet:

1 head of cabbage
2 lg. onions
2 green peppers
4 carrots
1 bunch celery
mushrooms if you like (I put in a small can)
2-14.5 oz. cans of diced tomatoes (get the petite diced)
1 can northern white beans
1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
8-12 cups of beef broth or stock (I used 1/2 chicken broth and 1/2 beef broth)
2 cups V-8 juice
salt and pepper to taste
cayenne pepper if you like it spicy (be careful., it seemed to get hotter the more it was cooked)-I used ancho chile pepper-it is milder and smokier
Saute' onions (Toni and I used a couple of cloves of garlic, also) in 2 tbsp. olive oil
Chop cabbage and veggies to bite size
Add broth to onions; then dump everything else in

Bring to boil and simmer for 2 hours or until veggies are cooked thru.
You are supposed to eat this as much as you want all day for 7 days. It is very hearty and satisfying. Toni said it jump started her metabolism...I think she lost 10 lbs? I froze mine, and I will have to get serious and see what happens.
The Lipton soup mix really gives it a good flavor-I may even add more than suggested.

I made brussels sprouts for the first time ever. I've never eaten them, roasted with salt, pepper and olive oil....They smell bad, but I will try...Lent for me Friday nite...no meat....Maybe I will just go to bed...

Holy Moley...we're into crunch time now, ladies!
I got the Cabbage Soup diet from Toni; I will let you know how it goes. I made it, but then sabotaged myself with pizza today. I must say, the soup was delicious! The recipe made 2 big pots, so I am freezing some.

No Beer and Bread. Eating mostly meat of all sorts and choclate nutritional shakes alone with a twenty minute walk most days with streches and crunches afterwards plus Ive added Acai Berry to my daily redimun.

Whoo hoo! Good for all who are seeing some changes. Keep it up! I did cardio all weekend and just finished a leg and cardio workout. Going to Van Halen at The Palace tonight. Hope I can keep out of trouble...

Man, I am whipped...Again...Slept in, did an hour of cardio, cleaned some house, went grocery shopping, took a 20 minute nap, made dinner...Chicken enchiladas in the oven, having a few beers....Wish I had the energy to head up to The Woodshop...Oh well, next time...Have fun y'all!!!!

I got a workout cleaning my house since Cedar is staying with me tomorrow-does that count? By the time I get home from the Woodshop with her, I'm sure my three kids will have already trashed the joint and it'll look like crap. Oh well, I tried, at least.
