Best western Atlantic, Grand Beach, Newport Beachside Resort,and The Deauville Beach Resort..Does anyone know anything about any of these Hotels? Am I looking in the right Miami location for Beaches/food/shopping by day and nightclubs/bars/drinking by night??Any advice would be helpful..Sure hope there's some Miamians reading this!!!Thank You KR Fans--

When I searchd, I did it for three days after the cruise, from the 30th to the 3rd. I do suggest you check the guest comments. Many of these hotels are very old and in the art deco district of Collins and Ocean Dr. Cut and paste the link below from travelzoo.com they are offering some really good deals.

Tammy ~ let me make a few calls and check for you. Not familiar with the liste hotes above. The place you booked, The Claridge is apx., 20 blocks North of where, I would imagine, the action will be. If Collins is what you want, anything South of say, 15th on Collins would be in the area of concentration. I'll be back, give me a few.

It's driving me crazy.....$25 tickets at a place 45 minutes from home and I can't find anyone that isn't working that night. My husband could go, but he doesn't like to stay out late on a work night unless he can get the next day off. Which he can't right now. Oh well, I guess it won't kill me ....but it may make me a little grouchy tomorrow!

Seems Collins is loooooong.. I'm at a lose for where I should be looking on Collins, and at this point I'm just confusing and frustrating the hell outta myself..forgot about this thread and just booked at the Deauville, husband looked it up and was not so pleased so now I have to cancel that reservation and find a new Hotel..The lady booking my reservation informed me that the Claridge on Collins is way further North or South (can't remember now) from where I want to be so now I possibly have to cancel that reservation too..uuuuggggg!!!!
I'm trying to have it all..Nice Hotel with Beach Front Access w/ Ocean View Balcony near clubs, good food, and happening Night Life...ok Miamians help me out!! Where on Collins should I be looking???Thanks

it took a bit of time but we just booked a Balcony room at the Claridge Hotel on Collins.. Anyone else booked there? Who's staying where??

Anything on Collins Ave. is very nice, we stayed at the Fountaine Bleu. lots of clubs, good food, remember it may be spring break for some that time too.
Miami Beach is your best bet, I used to live in the keys, and when we had to stay in Miami, it was always Miami Beach. parts of Miami are just plain unsafe. fort lauderdale isnt that far north lots of real nice beach front hotels. good luck.

Can't believe I/we may have to work around lounging on Miami Beach with a cool libation vs. seeing original Art Deco in the daylight (yeah, we're talking about that big of a geek!! ; ) But, if it has to be at night, so be it. The sacrifices I have to make, are my kind of sacrifices I tell ya!! }~

Thanks LK, more investigating is exactly what i'm trying to do..pictures can be very deseiving, as I learned first hand on a trip to Disneyland last year..Miami should not disapoint with your love of art deco..Hope to meet you on the Ship (if your going)..

The Beatles played the Deauville and the Rat Pack hung out there. Having a beach on the property is a nice thing to have. Seemed reasonably priced, but I remember seeing some not-so-stellar reviews; that would have me do more investigating. Grand Beach seemed nice. If I could, I'd stay at one on the beach too -- you go girl!! And Art Deco is one of my favorite art movements, so I'm looking forward to seeing that 1920s & 30s style of architecture up close. Full Geek Alert!! ; )
