Val and I took a cab from the Ren Cen to the Rub BBQ last night before the show and I pointed out the CARE wall to the driver. He said, "Why are you telling me this?" and I replied, "Well, you will probably have a bunch of Kid Rock fan riders tonight and they might want to visit it." He then told me very coldly "he didn't care." He was really a jerk and I was kind of flabbergasted at how incredibly rude he was to us.
Then, at 2 a.m. as we left the afterparty at the Filmore, we got into a different cab and the driver was just the sweetest thing.

He raised more than $1 million last night to benefit the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. I couldn't be a prouder fan. I loved the look on the DSO musicians faces as Kid came out to rock out on three songs as an encore, the first of which was Son of Detroit. The DSO musicians all just sat back and watched the magic happen. Kid was like a maestro. He conducted the orchestra and the audience last night...it was truly magical. He brought together so many people from so many different backgrounds. That, along with his music, is his God-given gift!

While watching you on stage with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as your back drop, playing your music, I couldn't help but wonder what was going through your head. To use your words... Mind blowing, I would guess. Congrats on a job well done. You do Detroit proud.

I know Kid hates it when we post all over You Tube but just could not help myself with this one. Kid in a Tux. Raising over 1 million for the DSO. I did not turn off camera for all of those who deemed it necessary to keep leaving the aisle. In those spots just enjoy the music. You are a great man Mr Ritchie. Proud of all you do for everyone. You make us smile. Happy to see my new friend from the cruise in the D: Surprises are good. Thank you.

Hey there I'm new to the whole Kid Rock community so this is my first post. I do like his music a lot and this will be my first concert of his. I'm attending his Concert at the Fox with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra on May 12 2012. What do you think everyone will be wearing? Its a kid rock concert so I was thinking casual, but then I started thinking Orchestra and the Fox and expensive benefit, should I be thinking Suit, shirt and tie, or jeans and t-shirt.

What do you die hard fans think?

    Thanks,

    Matt

Ok, this has nothing to do with Kid Rock but I just had to share this with you all. I was eating with my daughter and her two friends yesterday after school (the girls were starving) at a diner and this man comes up to our table. He politely asked if he could pay for our meals. I said "excuse me?" and then he said he's a millionaire but he's a poor man. He hands me a $20 bill and a business card that read: Secrets of a Poor Man...Enjoy your day!

Ok, I have been mulling this discussion over in my head the past few days. Paradime lightheartedly poked fun (during one of his cruise concerts) at us crazy ass women who dance at his shows. He imitated us by doing the "finger point" dance, and the "taking a snap shot dance," and a couple of other "looks" us ladies do as we dance. It was kind of funny, him acting like one of us ladies. Anyway, being smart ass me, I stood there afterward and just flipped him the bird while everyone else continued to dance. He saw me and gave me a nod. I hope he knows I was just kidding.

Rumor has it that Kid Rock may show up on stage at the Jimmy Buffett Concert at Comerica Park on July 28. Please say it is true!!! There ain't no party like a DEEEEtroit party and put that together with a Parrot Head party...it would be the most amazing night the D has ever seen! Not sure who reads these forum messages, but if you would please put the bug in the Kid's ear, maybe it could really happen!!! Thanks

I was at that concert and got the chance to relive it by watching it on the big screen in the Palladium room on the cruise. Seeing it again, I am convinced it was the best Kid concert I have ever attended. Our whole group got up and danced pretty much the entire time it ran. Some of us even went up on stage and danced as it played. Kid watched it from the top back but we didn't realize that until Cedar heard him say something about it being strange to see himself on the screen as we were leaving the theater. I for one would buy the DVD if it were made available.

I met Ron (I think that was his name) and he was so very sweet. I felt sorry for him and the other tat artist since they both got a little seasick as they did detail work ALL DAY while the boat rocked (literally and figuratively). Kid, these guys deserve something really special. They worked their asses off!

Cedar, Just Because, and I noticed when we were eating lunch in the Miami airport on the way home from the cruise, that we couldn't stop swearing even though we were making attempts not to throughout the conversation since little kids were nearby. Damn, it's hard not to swear after spending five days swearing like a sailor.
