“Seventeen was it just a dream”
Chasing forty sorting out some things
Free basing, tasting my memories
Dreams of Chevy’s, girls so pretty
Angel face with skin like cream
Seventeen, was it real
Seventeen, was it just a dreamYour friends stay in
Watching futures begin
While your stitching up sutures
From another coke binge
Feeling like a loser
You’re alone with your sin
Upstream river now you’re trying to swim
Dreams of Chevy’s, girls so pretty
Angel face with skin like cream
Seventeen, was it real
Seventeen, was it just a dreamHe knows it’s hard
But he knows some things
Well he’s played someReplies: 2Last Reply: 3 months 1 week ago -

“Why can’t you see”
Some thing’s you feel
You just can’t see
Like the wind in your hair
The air that you breathe
Look too the stars
Feel it in your heart
Can’t see but you feel
It’s there waiting for meWhen I was ten
That summer at my Aunts
River fiercely rolling
Tripped and fell in
Didn’t know how to swim
Darkness closing in
Down to my last breath
I feel this hand
Get pulled and free
Look around but don’t see
There’s no one there
It’s only meMomma says son
Why can’t you see
It’s right before your eyes
If you’ll only believe
It’s weighing on my mind
But we still have some time

“The Wanderers”
Another woman gets on her knees
And a faceless man feeds her with twenties
Somewhere there’s a wife in need
Whose man’s wandering
Somewhere there’s a man wondering
Why can’t she see
And the wandering comes
And the wandering goesSee them in the bars
Looking guilty and scared
2 or 3 drinks she lets down her hair
Couple of shots, he starts to stare
Wandering sets in
Now they don’t care
Wandering’s so thick
Feel it in the air
And the wandering comes
And the wandering goesHe’s a wanderer
She’s a wanderer
Put lust to the test
They tried their best
Their like most of the rest

Too far away
Heard something in the wind today
Whispering to me, you’re too far away
Momma’s praying again, happens that way
Come home son to where you belong
Come home son your too far awaySometimes in my life, as I’ve traveled along
Felt something pulling me, the feeling is strong
Felt something tell me, you’re not where you belong
Most times ignore it, keep traveling onChorus
Too far away
Didn’t seem like a bad idea then
To far away
Didn’t seem that far when
You could always drop in
You were too far away, so you didn’t
Too far away, damn I sure miss them
Chorus EndGo back on Christmas

“You’re time will come”
She was the one
Gold hair they called blonde
Looked at me once
At once I was gone
She showed me love
That I’ve never known
She said I was too young
Someday I’d know
Said just you wait boy
Your time will comeNow all through these years
I’ve never healed
She was the one
If I’m keeping it real
I see her always
Can’t help how I feel
I know it now
I knew it back then
Waiting I’m waiting
My time hasn’t comeAll of these women
But she’s still in my dreams
Can’t shake this feeling
She’s waiting for me
Waiting and waiting
But somehow it seems
No matter how long
That time isReplies: 9Last Reply: 3 months 2 weeks ago -

“Reversal of Fortune”
This reversal of fortune
Like a horror is torture
Turned him, burned him
Torched him and scorched him
Ordinary man
Magic numbers at hand
Stacks of fucking money
Tips Hookers a grand
Family calling pleading
All his friends always needing
Turn it off, make it stop
Now he’s bleeding and bleedingWho knew this
He don’t deserve this
Thought money served a purpose
Looks good on the surface
But it makes him so nervous
Got him down deep
Now it’s made him imperfect
Starts bouncing checks
Bills he neglects
Starts losing it all
What the fuck’d you expectLike a dope
With no hopeReplies: 8Last Reply: 3 months 2 weeks ago -

The River
My girl left me
Down in Memphis Tennessee
Standing by the river
On highway 63
River swiftly flowing
Moving with the trees
Play my guitar to the river
In Memphis TennesseeGot me a tent
Cause I can’t afford no rent
Playing songs to the river
Is how my time is spent
I hear the mighty Mississippi
Sing along with me
Play my guitar to the river
In Memphis TennesseeHad to say goodbye
But I see her in my mind
Mother of so many songs
Is I think is why
I can hear her calling me
Sometimes late at night
When you coming home
I need to hear your songs
Play my guitar to the river
In MemphisReplies: 19Last Reply: 3 months 2 weeks ago -

“It’s always been so”
Broken homes and broken dreams
Busted values, tattered seams
Like a freight train losing steam
It’s always been so, so it seems
Where’s our values said the Queen
Why don’t you swallow said the King
Satin sheets are stained with shame
Give me pleasure, fuck the pain
I want it all
You’re just the same
It’s always been so, it’s always been soLittle girls out on the street
Hungry men no consciences see
Try to ruin them all I believe
Cause society to bleed
Human Machine fucking feeds and feeds
So it seems, so it seemsIt’s always been so
That’s what they’ll say
It’ll happenReplies: 10Last Reply: 3 months 3 weeks ago -

“The Grey’s”
So many songs
They got it wrong
I tell you man
The list is long
From BB King
To Stevie Ray Vaughn
Play them Blues man
The way they’ve knownWell I aint got the blues
But I got the Greys
The way that I feel
On a dark cloudy day
The color of sadness
The color of pain
I aint got the Blues
But I got the GreysGuess right here
What I’m trying to say
I got the blues
Cause that sky is grey
Need an old blues song
Playin loud and clear
Chase them Blues
Right outta hereFrom Elvis Pressley
To Elton John
Here them boys sing
Those sad blues songs
Blue eyes laughing in the rain

“Nobody Knows”
Don’t wanna burden your soul
But there’s something you oughtta know
Whenever she steps out at night
She gets pretty low
She’s telling all her friends
You have to go
It’s happening again
Why, nobody knowsWorking hard for a living
Not taking, just giving
Fend for that dollar
Seems were all bent and driven
Give it your all
But don’t quite grasp their vision
You start your fall
Nothing at all will be forgiven
Then there it all goes
Why, nobody knowsLook to the sky
Nobody knows
Don’t ask me why
Nobody knows
Won’t tell you lies
Why won’t you just try
Don’t ask me why
Nobody knowsReplies: 6Last Reply: 3 months 3 weeks ago -
