On November first 2011 my Father in law was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday February 7th barely concience. On Wednesday he slipped into a full coma, due to a high amonia level. Ted and I arrived at his bedside late Wednesday evening. He was given medecine to lower his amonia level and on Saturday he opened his eyes and was able to respond to voices. We got our children on the phone and let them speak and say what they needed to say to their Grandfather. On Sunday he seemed to take a bit of a turn for the worse. As a family we decided to remove the tube but keep giving him his medecine and blood transfusions as needed. Ted and I drove back home on Monday. He slipped back into a coma and passed away on Tuesday (Valentines Day) at 9:25am. We are collecting contributions to help cover the cost of his services. If you would like to donate please call Dickies Mortuary at 909-822-2285 and give them the name of Steven Hayes. Thank you in advance for your kindness. Ted and I will be traveling back to Los Angeles with all the kids this weekend for the funeral.. I Hate Cancer, and all the sadness it brings..
