We were at the Tigers game tonight as the no hitter was happening, I never mentioned it, neither did my son or husband, we know better, but someone didn't cuz Anibal Sanchez pitched an unbelievable game tonight, and was robbed of the no hitter with 2 outs to go in the top of the ninth, by no less than Joe Mauer. Ok, here we go. For those who don't know Beckxy, she has come up with a wonderful idea and nonprofit org that we are going to try and roll out. Beckxy will be founder and is she chooses also Chief executive dependant upon her schedule. We need people to volunteer for the board and vote for appointment to fill the positions. Read just a fun read under express the Kid Rock in you to get all the info so I don't have to give details again. The board can be very small to start and grow and I recommend people with some experience in the role to seat that board position but it is not absolutely necessary. We need chief if Beckxy decides to just serve as the head and founder, auditor, bookkeeper, writer for minute and report- we'll say annually for now, it would be nice to have legal if anyone knows an attorney willing to volunteer at this point or probono with pay to come later, chair of committee- which can be shared in the idea process for now. There are others but this will be the core and a good start and we can add as we grow and serve multiple functions until established. I need a representative from each state to look up the tax laws in that state, completely separate from government nonprofit taxing, I will need assistance in research, also someone for computer work, design, and webpage , we don't have to have insurance or an attorney at this point but it never hurst to cover ourselves. So please post whether you want to vote and appoint, volunteer, or likewise for board members and what if any position you would be interested in and if not, would you be interested later on a committee when we are further along to help with deciding how to carry out mission, planning, financial, education objectives, etc.....look forward to your posts. Give me a little time because iPad going dead , as well as my brain, and PC down with wireless and just had a big storm come through. It may take a few days but I will definitely get back with ya and definitely start with your area first then as things grow look at the big picture. My words sometimes come out like my mind thinks them instead of the order that they will come. Baby steps, baby steps. I just tend to think big first when truly I'm starting small. Always looking at the big picture to crop the little one. Lol. My brain hurts!
When you have a product that
When you have a product that earns money for the nonprofit org, it has to be directly related to the cause otherwise it goes back to the rule I posted earlier and has to do with taxation and you can only have 20-25% coming from unrelated- can't remember the term they used, brain dead right now from trying to find non satellite or wireless Internet for my home due to remote location and availability and the requirements for my job due to hippa and security.it's impossible but have a lot of money to lose so I will figure it out. Anyway tshirts are great and we could do that through one of kids orgs probably with permission due to the way that the org is set up for tax purposes, in short. It can get complicated and that's why, like you, I read the fine print and research. But...I'm still looking into it , I just have to solve my career issue first.
Oh... and I think I am going
Oh... and I think I am going to get an extra day at work now too - to 4 days a week. The normal Sat. night 2nd shift worker just quit.. and I have to take what I can get, ya know. So my time's gonna be tricky.
I think for it to be a fund raising sort of thing, and for everyone to join in... or help raise money... it has to be going to something that we all would agree on. My thought is... like from the original essay... to do something to raise money for my hometown is wonderful and all... but I can't see how a lot of ppl in the Kid Rock community and the friend's in low places would contribute to my hometown... but if we did something to say.. maybe benefit a broader foundation.. more ppl would be willing to contribute. Like let's just say... we come up with a t-shirt idea to collect funds to donate to... hmm.. let's just say the Kid Rock Foundation... or the Kid Rock/Wayne State University Scholarship... I think more folks would commit to the shirt... rather a scholarship for my hometown or your hometown. Maybe I'm not looking at the broader picture... well not maybe.. probably..lol. But, yea.. perhaps we make the name.. do a project... all profits go to one of the one's I mentioned above and then build from there.. not sure. Again, you are talking to someone who only hands out a few bucks here and there to help in charitable causes.. never done something like this before... looking for the big book on how to / non profits for dummies..lol

RJ, lol.. the board panel does make me wanna run away. Now, I have not gotten to research anything non-profit yet... just spent my last two days working 3rd.. sleeping for 4 hours... spent the rest of the day doing my 800 word hero essay.. sleeping another 4 hours.. going to school this morning.. and now here back at work. Yet, I'll have you know that this is constantly running in my mind. Based off the idea from the essay, I took a minute to try and do some research online for any non-profit partnerships here in my town. I was delighted to see something new pop up... that is partnered with a few other programs in the area.. things I was speaking about in the essay, actually. They have a few jobs open, as well as, volunteering at the local pantry. Anyway.. this looks fairly new to me. Looks as if they are a huge resource for local help in just about everything. it's on the web.. for some reason I can't posts links anymore.. guess to keep the boards free of salescreeps..lol but it's ucswf then org behind it. Pretty cool, eh !! Would be cool as a fool to see another partnership there called C.A.R.E ~wink~
I do like the idea of having a volunteer from every home state.. good spread around, but where do we go after that ??? For me.. I got a community college full of kids who like reading bulletin boards for things to do... let the brainstorming begin, eh?

Don't let the term Board
Don't let the term Board scare you. It's just a group of people who will be the governing body of the org to help make the most important decisions. Doesn't mean you have to spend hours a day, it may mean an hour or 2 a week but I'm sure Beckxy would appreciate help in any form although I can't speak for her. Right now it means helping research the necessities for nonprofit and you don't have to be on a board for that. We are just looking at the process not jumping off the cliff and any help is much appreciated! Thanks Angel.

I'm like you Beckxy, I read the fine print that's why I was researching to make sure it is done, if it is done, in a proper manner. I have friends in high and low places. Lol thanks Garth Brooks. So I asked my friend who's dad is an attorney and started researching. Oh, I forgot , lil old wtf, I have a question. My new job requires I have either dial up or cable access Internet because I will be auditing and reviewing thousands upon thousands of patients charts and don't consider satellite or wireless internet secure. I have been researching security with wireless and satellite because I am in a remote location on the lake and these are the only services I can get. I searched business programs through Verizon's which seems to be the only carrier out here other than hughesnet. Do you know of any device or service that can convert wireless or satellite to a LAN line? I know they have it for big business but they will nit let me have an account unless I have more than 5 computers/ phone lines. Help I don't want to lose my at home job before I get it because it pays really well.

Great idea for class and what a way to gain ideas Beckxy. Get others thinking about it and honey take the credit , you deserve it!.that could help to get others involved. Whether you think it or feel it, you are a leader because you just led my mind into helping to kick start a nonprofit org which in turn reminded me that I used to be a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association as my grandfather had that title and my dear grandmother enrolled me when I was in college. My auntie also reminded me on the phone.lol sooooo I renewed my membership on 9/11. Comes with great benefits and allows me to have a voice in the Senate and Congress on topics such as things we can do to help our servicemen and woman. Everything happens for a reason. By all means you deserve the title Chief and Founder and I will help ya in any way I can. I don't need the spotlight either I just want to get the mission accomplished.the org will spotlight you and itself. If I have jumped the gun , let me know. ps... this is a lil off topic
ps... this is a lil off topic but wanted to share.... At the end of August.. my husband and I took a lil camping road trip to Ohio to see Hellbound Glory perform at a semi-private party on a farm. We had a day after to do as we wanted and we were only about 4 hours away from Detroit.... so we drove the 4 hours up to see the CARE wall because it was something that I really wanted to see. I had a feeling I knew exactly where it was because on the video it looked like it was just right across the street from where the Park Bar is, and where the people mover comes thru to grand circus... and no crap... it was exactly where I thought it was. So much bigger seeing it up and close.. quite beautiful. It meant the world for me to see it because my phrase got picked to go up on it... the one about I care about my elderly parents... and so we left there feeling quite odd because normally we go to the D, stay longer, visit friends with music in mind... yet what a feel-good moment and inspiration to be able to finally see it right in front of us and read all the other CARE phrases from other fans that got picked to go up on that wall. It's a great question to ask our communities.. "What do you CARE about?"

I clearly see your point, yet I do believe life is a learning process, and so; perhaps RJ is just providing inspiration where inspiration is needed, so to speak. Perhaps she gets the way that I am writing that I have real 'fear' of being any kind of leader since I asked for someone who may want to lead in one of my posts. hmmm, just thinking out loud.. I'm not one who likes to take credit for things.. not sure why.. don't like being in the spotlight.. yet, I've made my way here and called it my home for a long time..lol Yet... I do feel that opening up a topic of conversation based upon something for a good cause can only benefit in every way possible. It brings on ideas, can open a window of opportunity, and creates motion and flow. Just thinking... how hard could it be to raise $2500 (full-time tuition for one semester for my hometown's community college) to benefit one kid who really deserves a jump start to success? And yet, there's so much more concern. There's the single parents who quit school because they had gotten pregnant at a young age... and it seems as if it's just generation after generation - a learned behavior of babies having babies. I was going down the same route, really.... yet God had other plans for me, I suppose. And that was to be this crazy Kid Rock fan...lololol All good - All Good !!

One of my main targets of concern is to create awareness to high school students to stay in school and graduate. It's been said that many manufacturing jobs and businesses do not set up shop in Reading, because the majority of kids do not finish school.... yet, we know that the whole US is suffering from a bad economy.. and so I know it's tough all over the place.... but we gotta start to focus on the core problem. And, I can relate to these kids.... because back in 1994, I dropped out in 12th grade at Reading High for many of the same reasons the kids do now. I did breeze thru a GED test in 95... but unfortunately, some of these kids will live half or more of their life on the streets before realizing that all they had to do was believe in themselves.
Google this for some more inspiration: Kid Rock partners up with Wayne State University for arts (musical) scholarship. There's a lot of great articles that pop up.

Maybe Im "jumpin the gun" but it seems to me 69 your voluntering ms.Beckxy. Im also thinking the C.A.R.E effort would be in a hands on type situation which is awesome becaues I belive indeed thats what our comunitys need, activitys that guide individule behavior collectivly. I took a class in the 10th grade called "All About Me" and thank goodness for that, sometimes parents are just too busy doing other things and some kids are left to "wing it".

I think we can still use it because the acronym stands for something different as there are ones for cats, dogs, world poverty so we may be able to stick with it, especially since I don't know if we could use Kid without his permission. See that's why I need the attorney. We would have to be very careful and possibly spell the acronym out on the Facebook page. Also looking at the rules for starting a page under Facebook rules. Would love some assistance there as technology is not exactly my thing.
