    “Blue fades to grey”

The first time he held him, he knew
    Looked into those eyes
    So innocent and blue
Looked into him and him into me
    Saw it right then
    Thought that he’d always be
A family man, now proud of his son
Seemed that his life, had just begun

A bond exists between a son and a man
If you aint had it, you won’t understand
How to act tough, hold a ball in his hands
Don’t be so rough when you’re holding her hand
    When to walk away
Or when to take a stand
A bond exists between a son and a man

    Working hard for the money
While she takes care of him
Robbed of your time at work
Robbed of the money she spends
    You’re paying for college
She’s buying lunch for her friends
Don’t mean that much too me
    She’ taking care of him

    Come home late one night
House is too dark no lights
Took your Son and she’s gone
    Stand there all alone
Ask yourself what has she done
Ask yourself, where is my son

    Longing fills his nights
    Dread fills his days
    He wonders and wonders
    Is his little boy OK
    Seems he starts forgetting
    Blue eyes start to fade
Like the hair at his temple
    Blue fades to grey
