We were recently in Milwaukee for the Harley Davidson 105th Anniversary Bash. We saw Kid Rocks concert and it was awesome! He played almost all of my favorites. And since it was my birthday I pretended that he sang "Low Life" just for my big day. Twisted I know, but, it made it the best birthday ever and I have reached an age where counting birthdays aren't my favorite activity! : )
We also had tickets to see the big finale concert of Bruce Springsteen. BIG MISTAKE! The real die hard fans were pushy and rude. Literally. We were by a fence that sectioned of people that got a special pass to get close to the stage and at one point they were pushing me so hard I almost fell and would have been trampled on. What makes them so special?
We then left after 1 1/2 hours when he only sang one song that I knew. The rest were just jumbled noise. You couldn't understand the words like he was unable to get them out of his mouth. They weren't even worth dancing to! What is the point? There was a steady stream of people leaving when we left. All with the same feeling. BAD CONCERT.
I think that Kid could give him some pointers. Ways to engage the crowd and make everyone feel like they are a part of the concert....even in the back. Something with high energy and a bit of flash. I am sure that Kid is more talented just based on the number of instruments that he plays and the mix of sounds he makes....punk rock with a little hip hop....you can't go wrong in that mix in hitting something most people are going to like.
I was so mad that we spent our money and wasted our time at that concert. Listening to his liberal B.S. politics. So unAmerican. At a Kid Rock concert or when I have seen him on t.v. I have always felt he loves America and respects the people the defend it as much as I do.This is something I can buy into. Not all the Springsteen anger.
I do want to thank Kid Rock and the band for a wonderful concert and to let you know that I would love it if you would come to the Twin Cities soon! An all American Biker Chick would love to see you here!
I am happy to be here among friends,
Kim
I like Springsteens Born In The USA (mid 80's) & Born To Run (mid 70's) albums. Bought & like a few of the songs on his 'The Rising' album, in honor of 9-11. Never seen him in concert, & don't intend to. I use to somewhat like the guy, but, his using his stardom to preach liberal lame ass politics turned me off. People pay to hear music from recording artists, not hear politics. :(
Kev, can you explain the appeal to me? I just didn't get it.....maybe I wasn't meant to!
and still sells out every show he does...
Was, haha. I've retired.
Nice to meet you too. Hope you have some fun here.
What a wild child you are! I am jealous. It is nice to meet you. K
I think I'm over the 20 mark for KR concerts. There were 14 just in 2004 alone. That was a wild ride. A couple in 2003 and then a few in 2006, trying to remember if there was anything in 2007...nope, it escapes me...only 1 so far in 2008.
Yeah! Finally someone who agrees with me! This was our 4th concert, but, won't be our last! What about you? How many concerts?
Springsteen stinks and so does New Jersey, aahahahaha.
He's always sung like he had rocks in his mouth. He has maybe 2 songs that I can even tolerate from waaay back.
Glad you loved KR's show, was it your first?
Happy to have you here.
