Where do you guys think is the best place to go see a Kid Rock concert, a place where people like to have a good time? Also where does he do the most meet and greets?

Bethel, NY was a great place to see the show last year... as well as any outdoor venue, Holmdel Jersey... or Montage Mountain... sound hits the trees and echoes back ; ) Wooded Outdoor venues are the way to go. As far as meets and greets.... haven't a clue, seriously

I've seen him 7 times, and have tickets for 4 up coming shows seen him twice out of state just a few weeks ago in Memphis, he's never disappointing but I can say there's a special vib in Michigan!

Jones Beach on a great summer nite. A casino with a great sounding venue or auditorium. A smaller venue in a rabid bobtown, like Toledo.

Though he really does not do a lot of meeting and greeting anymore, unless you cruise or you are in a specialized situation. At this stage of his career some artists do and some don't so much as they get older and involved with families. Security. Time. Profit margin.

I can certainly empathize after tallying the number of fans he's encountered over his career to date. One of the reasons why it was great to have Harley supporting this leg, their contest allowed the on the stage songs and guitars for fans, which have proven to be popular and well done.

For meeting the band or stuff, definitely early is better, and any venue (fairs or festivals) that doesn't seal off the set up process for the nites show, and has stuff to do around/outside the "celebrity enclosure." More space for cordial interaction. Or, be prepared to stay late if they decide to settle in one town a little and don't have another gig the next nite.

Another tour to do for your list, if you have never arrived early or left late, try to squeeze that in. Especially at a place that allows you to see the setup and breakdown of the show, including sound system. Loading those buses and semis and cheering on their way for a great nite's work is always appreciated.

Very impressive process. Fast. Huge amount of delicate stuff to roll around the country from arena to arena. Plus tons of other not so delicate. Backlight that on a wetter nite, where all the lights reflect back makes you appreciate the entire effort and all their accomplishments so much more.

I know some of us have been there for a set-up or teardown, and it really is something to see, especially if you are a music junkie like I know Blue is, and me, too.
I have to say about the meet and greets, or just meeting the band members in general...I had several conversations with our gang about what it means to meet these folks--and there were mixed reactions. Many said they feel fake about it and it doesn't seem right..seriously, what are you going to talk to these ppl about? You don't really know them. You know most everything about them; they know nothing about you. It's strange. If the goal is to say 'thank you for the great music' and 'great job' then that can be done quickly in passing. I just feel it must be like living in a glass bowl or something show after show, having ppl you don't know want your attention. I understand it is part of the PR persona. But it must be like being in the circus sometimes...ppl touching you, talking to you, and you don't even know them. I'm not sure I could hack that kind of scrutiny.

I dunno i really liked seeing him in a smaller place like the Ryman, but that was a special tour. It won't happen too often. Had a great time. Otherwise i have seen him @ Bridgestone and Riverport. Hmmm...i like Riverport as it is my stomping ground. Been there so many times i quit counting. St. Louis is how Detroit i imagine anyway. You mind your own business and go about it. MEET and greets i have no clue. Kid doesn't sell them. You do have opportunities to win them but not a bunch of them. I have tried to win them several times with no luck. I don't begrudge others though. If you win have a great time and say hey to Kid for me!

Kid to me seems to isolate himself to extent. He isn't about the meet and greets like some artists are. Many pimp big dollar packages out for meet and greets. I dunno what to make of all that. IF it was not crazy priced i would buy a meet and greet. BUT me i wouldn't pay over $200 to meet anybody. I am sorry but come on. AND honestly in my personal opinion meeting ppl comes with the territory of fame, touring, and being a public person like he and other artists are. IMO i just think that all comes with the territory. To me that is like bitches like TOMMY LEE crying in songs about papparazis' yeah i know they are a pain in the ass, but come on. Let them take their pic and move on. Most ppl with common sense will wait til somebody they wanna meet is done eating etc to approach them, or @ least i would. As a fan you will show some respect and step back and approach when they aren't putting a bite in their mouth, it is called manners!

But yeah whatever some artists just aren't much into meeting fans. MANY are in the beginning but once they got enough bank, nice houses, and no worries their thoughts on pressing palms disappears. THAT IMO is when they should do it the most and for free....BUT then some ppl aren't PR savvy either. IT is like hmm....i want to keep a killer fan base, popularity, etc and how do i go about that?

Thank you :-) for your response. I want to go to a show that he does in a fun atmosphere but have no clue wher to start. Guess I should start some research.

You can believe he truly puts it out there for all his MICHIGAN shows...He always does for his home state. There is a great atmosphere when he comes to Nashvegas no matter where he plays. So far i haven't seen him play a bad show. I really liked the smaller tour, but as i said that was limited thing and all. HE can't in reality do a tour like with his given situation. Why would he do the Ryman when he can nearly sell out Bridgestone. Economically it makes zero sense.

ONE thing that is great his merchandise is reasonably priced. Here is a for instance. Last night i went to see Bon Jovi @ Bridgestone. Bon Jovi tshirts were $45 @ the cheapest, i was like fuck that. I bought one of Kid's when he played there on Feb. 15th for $25 and had no problem doing that. One sleeved shirts forget it. I WON'T pay the crazy merchandise price when it is like that. THEY lose me as a customer. IF you want to belly up and get ripped off be my guest. I am quite sure doesn't even cost $10 to totally have any shirt made. Yet they wanna charge what? Nah even @ $25 they are making a nice little profit. And i guarantee Kid sold 3-4xs the shirts. SO who wins in that? Kid for being kinder to his fans wallets, because in the end he made more money and sold more gear. And with the tshirt sale when it gets worn it will be advertising for free that the fan paid for....SO by treating his fans right on tickets, tshirts, etc KID keeps more fans coming back and buying more stuff. It is like being Wal Mart and Bon Jovi is being Macy's or something. EVERYBODY'S ass goes to Wal Mart....and they all drop money in there on a regular basis.

Completely agree with you Ajay...I am sure Bon Jovi put on a good show, as I have seen many, but like you, I have gotten VERY jaded about artists that continually rip off their fans at the stands, and don't give a rat's a$$.
And I will go one step further and say that (Jon) Bon Jovi supports a political agenda that I do not agree with, that is touted in the press as 'hope and change for the common folk', and yet he allows this price gouging to take place, and charges more than almost anyone else I know except for the Stones for his tickets? HMMMMM NOT COOL

KRSVal's picture

In addition...
I'd like to add that at least Kid Rock supports his beliefs with action. Don't rip off his fans. He understands and REMEMBERS what hard work is like, and that effort=hard work=$=don't rip ppl off.
I'd like to see JayZ, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Jon Bon, and to some extent, Springsteen (yes, I know about the canned food drives) do the same. Put up or shut up, lol.
