Ballz in yo Mouth Volume 3
That Guy says (30 May '10)

Brenda is my Friend...Always has been, always will be. I do not even count her as a KRAA friend, I just call her friend, she makes one of my best friends happier then i could ever have imagined, and that means she is in my heart.. Sometimes I hate when I include names in my posts, and then forget a name or two or 20...

Today I want to think back and talk about the old school. A day and age when many of you knew not who Kid Rock was or who he would eventually become.

I was a freshman in High School when I first heard Kid Rock... A Friend of mine had a cassette and told me (a hip hop head) to take a listen. I was hooked from the start. I was always into Rap Music since the first time I put my headphones on to listen to some Eazy E and NWA. I loved hearing the stories of the hood that we did not get from the news, we did not (at the time) get in movies, it was this white boys glimpse into a situation or a lifestyle that he could never imagine. I know Rap Music gets a bad reputation in many communities, through the media, and almost everywhere outside of the community we call Hip Hop, but the truth is, many people take the lyrics and the music too literally (sorta like people take me to literally)

Anyways, Back to Kid Rock. I heard the cassette, dubbed it, and couldn't stary away. Kid Rock was the white boy, talkin about white boy shit, and saying it in a way that was genius to me. I was a fan before I could say Aint no party likea Detroit Party. I went right out to the store and Got Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast.. I started passing the Music on to friends who also enjoyed Kid Rock the same way I was enjoying Kid Rock. Back then we didnt have no internet, we didnt have a means to find more music, bootlegs, downloads, we basically statyed on top of things by going to the local shows (Bars, Halls, college town parties)

Soon after Kid was dropped from Jive, the local appearances started to heat up. I remember the first time I met Bob, I was at a College Party in Big Rapids, Mi...I was probably 16 or 17 years old. He performed a show up there, and then showed up at a Party. We talked and got drunk and stoned.. I remember driving Bob to Hot N Now, where we got 30 burgers to take back the party.. It was then that I knew, this dude it alot like me.

The next few years was a constant flow of Kid Rock music, shows, and after parties.. Polyfuze Menthod Days were such a blur. I remember shows at The Ritz in Roseville, The Majestic, Magic Stick, Bullfrog, name a place in Detroit, and I saw a Kid Rock show there.. A Kid Rock show was not just a show, it was a party, The hot bitches from all over the place, the coolest of dudes, just a good time,. Rarely were there fights, rarely was there much trouble, just a drunken good time..

I remember the Bootleg Cassette Series the months leading up to Early Morninh Stoned Pimp. I remember the flyers, I remember going up to the Record XChange in Southgate the day those motherfuckers were released. I remember my first intorduction to the TBT band, and the new Style that would years later make Kid Rock a household name.. I remember EMSP being released, I remember the show that was supposed to Break Kid Rock intot he mainstream, Record Execs all over the place...

I remember Devil without a cause being released. Local interviews where Bob proclaimed that Atlantic was going to make him a star. I remember first hearing Joe C, and playing it his part for all my friends, and watching them run to the store to buy the CD.. I remember months later, Kid Rock still being just a local hero, and running into him at a Grocery store, where he told me, It's gonna blow up, I will Kill myself making sure it does...

I remember seeing him on MTV for the first time, Fashionably Loud.. I remember hearing Howard Stern talk about Woodstock and how he was blown away by Kid Rock...

I remember Kid Rock being Number 1 on TRL...

I remember the pride I had in my Hometown Hero. I remember the Pride I had in saying I was there for the whole ride..

I still have that pride.. I still think back to the days of the oldschool, and I still remember the guy that BUSTED his ass to get where he is today...

    Thank You Kid Rock....

I remember back in 2003 or so I met KevRock for the first time. I hated him dearly. Ha, Just kidding. He has become one of my best internet friends ever but he's more than that to me really... Just an all around friend indeed.

We dont talk as much now but we still like to agree and disagree on things a time or two. I do consider him one of my "Close" group of the original KRAA friends. I will always cherish that.

Thanks for being a friend bud.
Ricky

PS. My nuts itch and you want my balls in your mouth.

And you become good friends not through internet, emails and phone calls. It begins that way but endures because of time spent together and then continuing the internet/phone connections!

I still don't agree with this entirely. I do think it's possible to get to know someone without actually meeting them in person. I have yet to meet some friends in person that I consider to be close.

I, like you, know people who dont live close but its only a friend that I will spend my money on to go see for no other reason then to spend time with them (No KR show)

My biloxi trip is a perfect example, I had no ticket to that show. I drove the 8 hours to see friends (and because Kevin wouldn't take no for an answer). It was never about a Kid Rock show for me from the beginning. The shows were just an excuse for me to travel (and party, hehe) to see friends.

all I know is... I wanna be drunk on a beach in Florida...Who's coming with me? haha

Next time I type maybe I should includes names or something...or add a disclaimer

This wasn't a personal attack to anyone...

I sure as hell didn't try to say I was Kevins bestset friend or anything, nor was I trying to prove anything about money/time spent or how long its been since anyone has seen a friend.

I did nothing more then any of us has when we try to tell "newbies" about a person we know outside of a message board.

I'd spend my money to come see a few people around here.

ohhh and I fell in love w/ kid rock the first time I saw him on MTV Spring Break Fashionably Loud...jumping around, banging his freaken head. MmmmmMmmmmm

Ohhh I know, Im not his lifelong/childhood friend either. I just said there are some things you have to experience with him in person and most people here havent.

Hahaha, Kev is really one of Bob's hometown boys.

That was really sweet Bren but I have to dissagree with some of what you've said. I am not a lifelong or childhood friend but I have had the privelege to get to know the real Kevin despite the distance between us. The same way that Kelly and I have become the best of friends despite that same distance.

Awwwwwwwwww just when I want to smack you...I fall in love again...
Let me try to explain.
Deep down somewhere I know the man Kevin. He isnt always there, you have to be quick to catch him but when you do, youll see what Ive seen.
You cant have just partied with him or even have just met him in person. There are only select times when he lets his guard down. Most people who have seen this is lifelong friends, people he went to school with, grew up with. I cant claim any of those but Ive slid in there due to my relationship with Scott. For that Im lucky to know the real Kevin (and times he is lucky too, for if not, I might have killed him)
So to all the haters, wannabes, even people that claim to know him only by way of this internet world, you do not.
You have to see him with his child
You have to see him with your child
You have to see him at a funeral consoling a friend
You have to see him give a toast at a friends wedding
You have to see him wake up to go pick up a friend at 4 in the morning
You have to know exactly how much he hates being woken up!
You have to sit with him at strange hours and just not believe the things he talks about (things he knows I would never repeatno one would believe me anyway)
Theres more, but Id be giving away too muchand well.you have to know him
Now Im not claiming to be better than anyone (ok, better than most!) but you have to have experienced these glimpses of Kevin to understand.

Well shit, whyd you have to go and talk about me and get me all sappy? I couldve just came in here and said Wow you took me back with those memories and bummer we never seen each other that long ago! Hell even the old school memories got me a bit sappy! Those were the days!

I love ya big guyNow come gimme a hug
