    Got to spend some time in Kansas City today before the show with Make A Wish child “Alex”- We played “Born Free” and “All Summer Long” (at his request) in a private soundcheck today for him and his family, He is even the first person to wear my “EMSP l.e.d. hat!!” Had a blast spending time with him and I think he’s gonna have a great time tonite! Truly a young man god has his hands on. Rock On Alex, from your friend, Kid Rock.

Alex just went into surgery at about 8am, Houston TX. time. I will be getting updates every two hours starting at 10am. Again, if anyone has questions or comments please e mail me directly at: wsh1973@att.net, PLEASE pray for my little super hero, as this is an intense surgery 10 hours, could last upto 12 if they find any diease hiding anywhere. Alex has been through so much starting at 4 years old yet he has not lost his zest to be a normal kid and play with his 4 other siblings, he has GOD'S strength running through him! Ok, so here we are... No evidence of diease in the belly. The chest is what they call stable ( no changes). They think there could be upto 300 seedlings (cancer cells in the belly) thats were Dr. Hayes-Jordan comes in, she will pick out as much as she can get. she can feel something the size of a grain of salt. We won't know if the underneath of any organs have any diease until she takes them out and exiams them. If there is signs of diease she will remove the affected parts. They are thinking that is surgery will last 10 hours. As for the chest Dr. Anderson will be putting together a hardcore radation plan and a diffrent chemo treatment. He has out ran the backpack chemo and his body can not taloarate it any longer. My heart goes out 2 ur son Alex and ur family.I have 2 girls 22 and 14.I also have a grandson of 3 yrs of age.I can not imagine wat u as a family are going thru and I wish u all the best and all the blessings in the world 2 stay strong 4 ur son.Have faith and keep believing and anything and all is possible.My blessings I send 2 u along with lots of hope and faith.GOD BLESS

Last month I found a lump behind his left ear, it has grown but, slowly. Alex has had some headaches and neck pain on the side were the lump is. Since DSRCT is known to spread to the skull I am to say the least nervous. His scans were not due till next week but they put a rush on them he gets his PET scan tomorrow 4-7-11, this will light up any and all cancer. He has his CAT scan on Friday 4-8-11 this will show if the cancer shrank, stayed the same or grew. This cancer is a monster and has no known cure! At this point the chemo they have him on 2 weeks on 2 weeks off on a pump, allows him to go to school play with his 3 other brothers and sister, and not stay at the hospitial. It has worked well with him. Gained some weight and even grew a little. I have stepped back and stopped being selfish with my little angel, I put my self in his shoes and think about what a normal 5 year old little boy would want.......to be home, playing, blowing bubbles, running back and forth through my house with his siblings. I can not and will not take that away from him. Quality of life. Kid Rock has made his year, Alex watches his videos on you tube and has even perfected Kids dance moves!!! KID ROCK is one in million. Alex told me he would never forget that day for as long as he lives.I can not express my deepest thanks to Kid for doing that for my little angel. WENDYSUE, My daughter was DX with neuroblastoma when she was four months old. I too, found that it was hard to find anything because it is "rare". Sadly, they like to say that all childhood cancer is rare, I don't find anything rare about it when there are 46 children DX everyday and they do not get the funding or attention that is deserved. I do EVERYTHING I can as a childhood cancer advocate. My 8 year old son is shaving his head next week for St. Baldrick's, to this point, he has raised $300.00!! He is doing it to honor his baby sister and a dear friend who is in the fight for his life who lives near Romeo, MI. We met them in NY, we are from MI also but travel to the specialists in NY. Gina is doing great, she has been cancer free for 2 years, she celebrated her 3rd birthday on January 17. Hope all is well with you, remember to take one day at a time & keep the faith!!

When My 5 year old was DX. 7-27-10 at age 4, I felt a total loss of everything. A month later I went on a journey to get a ribbon created and published because I was "angry" there was no awareness ribbon for DSRCT. It took a few months but it happened! I later found out it was because this cancer is so rare, well I was not "angry" any longer. I can not just sit and watch my little boy and others go through this horrible experience to fight so hard and hoping they are the one that will be the one that wins this battle. I then once again, got "angry" that there is not a serious research on a cure for this cancer. Well, I am done being "angry" and I am taking a stand, not just were I live but around the world every man, woman, child that fights this monster needs to know we have to stand tall and broadcast our message for research to find a cure. That is my promise to my little boy and all others suffering, I am done with not having answers and walking blind, doing this and doing that to my son in hopes that he will be cured! Enough is enough and I am done waiting. I am now on a new mission and I will be heard

A Brother Needs Help If Possible: A poker run and benefit for Donny McDonald Saturday, May 7 at 2:PM at Ixonia, Wisconsin, IxoniaPub. Donny's story. In November 2010 he was hospitalized at Watertown Memorial Hospital with what we thought was diverticulitis of his colon. He spent a week in Watertown Hospital. With the pain only getting worse he went back into Watertown Memorial hospital where at the end of January his diagnose was changed from diverticulitis to colon cancer. There was a mass the size of a lemon surgically removed followed by another week in the hospital recovering. The biopsy indicated that there were a a total of 8 lymph nodes that need to be treated as well and the most current information we have received from his Oncologist in Oconomowoc this past Friday, additionally 4 tumors on his liver. He is in Stage 4. He will be doing nine months of chemotherapy and three of those months will be a chemotherapy/radiation combination. He does not have medical insurance and although overwhelming, his spirit and mood remain good. I am having a benefit for my brother Donny on May 7th. I will be planning a poker run followed by a party at Ixonia Pub. We will have items to auction off, volleyball, horseshoes, two bands and food. Hopefully more activities will be added as well! I will include more details as it gets closer but wanted to get this out early enough. Hope to see you there! Thank you for giving Alex something he will never forget. Alex is my nephew and I can tell you true that he is still walking 2 feet off the ground with a smile on his face because of what you did for him. This sweet little boy has been through more pain and suffering in the last 9 months than anyone should have to ever endure, let alone a 5 year old child. Your kindness will be remembered with gratitude by our whole family. You are (as my grandmother used to say) "a good egg". Cheers! Gene

you have such a big heart and I see that, so i must not be blind! lol Im your number one fan from the 5th row in chicago sat night with the big ass sign that i had made for you and i had to bust in the door with and ditch security cuz they weren't gonna let me bring it. you'd have been proud of what i went thru to get that there. I have a pic of that big sign that i even posted my phone number on...lol. Anyways i have a pic of us holding it at your concert sat night. i think it should be added to photos on your website. if your webcrew wants it have them email me at johnson.lora@mayo.edu....i'd be happy to email it to them....i bet no other fan has had a sign professionally made for you with their phone number from a small MN town and ran like hell from security at the front door to get it in. That was wild. Anyways...im still your #1 fan and again you've written the soundtracks to my life!

This right here shows why I have been following you around since 1996. I go back to before Devil Without a Cause baby! Been loving your talent since 1996 and EMSP. Was in the second row at the Chicago show this Saturday right on the side of the stage. I have been to over a dozen of your shows and that was definitely one of the best. Ranks right up there with Detroit in 1999 with Metallica and Ted Nugent and the Aragon "Brawl" Room in Chicago in 1998. Keep rockin on brother. Your music has made a difference in my life. Maybe with any luck at one of your shows in the future I will get the opportunity to shake your hand and say “Thank You” in person.
