    Momma Rock Responds!

This was sent to me by my Mom this morning, Thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share.

    Hi Bob,
Been thinking a lot about you out on the road in this unbelievable weather. Cudos to you for your response to those whinning about not being able to make it.You wouldn't have won if you cancelled. I remembered this morning while I was excercising and listening to Mr. Cash on my Ipod about the time Dad and I went to see George Jones and Tammy Wynette at Meadowbrook. It was late Sept. and in the 20s. We went in our hats, gloves and warm coats. The warm up act played, then Tammy and then the warm up act again. About 10pm people started to leave and as they did we kept moving up closer-never even thinking about going home (although we probably should have, because who knows what was going on there.) No show Jones finally came on about 11pm and by then we were about 3 rows back and saw one hell of a show. We went home raving about the show and always had something to talk about when George Jones was in the news. We still are fans to this day. At least he showed up-probably drunk and all. And as far as refunding the money-that's over and above the call of duty, but that shows your character and that is something I'm so proud of. Looking forward to seeing you In March.

    Love, Mom

....... And George played until 1am and Meadowbrook shut the lights down!!!!

I hope you get to read this bobby. I am a nurse and here in ohio we have nasty weather too. I have to be in the er when im scheduled or someone may not get the help they need. People depend on me keeping my word and being at work. In 10 years i have missed work 3 times, 2 for being in the hospital and one for a funeral that i ended up trading days and working 2 to get 1 off. You Bobby is in the same position. You agreed to be somewhere and do your job, and you followed through on your contract. No where does it say that if the weather is bad you dont have to come. You have set your standards, and I feel you have been a wonderful role model to Junior by showing him you show up and you keep your word. this shows what kind of man you are. if the people who didnt make the show really wanted to come, they had options in leaving early, or showing up the night before and getting a motel room. You dont control the weather, and you dont owe the whinners anything. every concert i have been to states on the tickets that this show will go on no matter what the weather. you did the stand up thing and the show went on just as you signed the contract to do. your true fans know and respect you. dont let the posers bring you down. i had my son at a very young age, and we sorta grew up together. i taught him the doors and pink floyd, he taught me kid rock. he is now a united states marine serving our seas. i had to send 10 copies of your new cd over to them as soon as it was out. born free has become their theme song. i was a single parent also, and i want you know that did make the right choice for little rock and it shows your character to both your son and to the people who sponser you. it shows your a man who stands behind his values. btw when your back this way i would love to buy you a few drinks.

I was at the Little Rock show, which was by far the best show i have seen to date. Six of us piled in a pickup truck and made the 100 mile trip from home. We felt it Kid didnt cancel, we were gonna go above and beyond to get there to see him. We made it in about 4 hours in the blowing snow and got to see Kid Rock rock The Rock!! If we were able to get there, anybody could have!! No way we were gonna stay home, NO WAY!! Thanks for the great performance and count me there every time you come back to the Natural State!!

HI Kid, Have never posted before or been to this site but read about the weather show on cnn and all I can say is now I am a real big fan. Come on the site and here is your mom giving cudoos also. In a world where there is not much real, you keep it real and that is more than music! Have a safe tour. P.S. Just joined the web-site too! New fan John

Bobby, You handled this with class, no matter what anyone says. Had "the show not gone on" then all of your LOYAL, TRUE, DIE HARD FANS who traveled to see you wouldn't have been able to. That would have done them a grave injustice. You're doing the right thing all around. Frankly, it would take more than 6" of snow for me not to make it to one of your shows. LOVE YA BOBBY!

I thought your response was awesome to the people who felt "Ripped Off". I have lived in Iowa most of my life where the winter weather is bad. I have never been to one of your concerts but have always been a fan because of your honesty. I have always admired that about you. So if you ever come to Iowa in a blizzard and I buy a ticket I know I will see one kick ass show and I won't be whining about the weather. Keep on Truckin' brother

Your response to the crybabies was great!!! You are have stayed true to your roots. I watched your TV special a month or so ago and really enjoyed it. You are so down to earth. I love your music also. You are a good family man with a big heart and there is nothing phony about you. God Bless You and Your Family. You are awesome!!

Love the response to the whiners. The show must go on and you put on one hell of a show and we get our money's worth and then some. Can't wait til the next tour!

This math teacher from Ontario had to join the fan club just to let you how much love and respect I have for Detroit and your attitude specifically. I saw personally what you are made of when I attended a Detroit Tigers Game last summer and you waved a woman past security to let her give you a huge hug. You are real..........the kind of guy who would stop and help a person in need of assistance. I don't own any of your albums, but did attend your Co-America party with Alice in Chains. You gave me more than my money's worth, Kid. When I heard what you did to "compensate" those who were pissed about you actually making a decision to play in bad weather........I had to let you know that I wasn't surprised. Those people should hike it up to Detroit and witness what true love for an artist looks like. I saw it, felt it and was blown away. Your Momma raised you right, Kid! Ps....George Jones rocks!

Mama Rock is right! You were bound to make some people unhappy. A snow storm is typical in Michigan and you are use to driving in such conditions. Only God controls the weather, and we would have to say it would have been a no win situation no matter what you did. If you had cancelled, the die hards would have been upset. Fans need to understand it costs a lot of money to get the equipment and band members to a concert. Calling you "Greedy" was just wrong. I can tell the fans that called you that, would have a lot of others disagreeing with them. How many entertainers go overseas to entertain troops at their own expense (and thank you for that). They should also know you have replaced stolen gym equipment in a Michigan School, reimbursed fans for tickets that had been purchased online and were fakes. Kid Rock is a very respected person in the city of Clarkston, give him some credit!

A mother's love has no boundaries, no rules and unconditional. However, I would agree sometimes at a distance. She sounds great and I agree quit whinning things could be worse as long as you are above the ground you are doing all right.

Your love for the fans and the fact that you keep ticket prices low have enabled me to see you 3 times, 4th time gonna be in Kansas City, Feb 25th! My best friend is flying from Calgary to see the show with me. Last year I drove to Calgary (2000 miles, but worth it!) to see your show with her at the Calgary Stampede. You are a good man...I watched the VH1 special Born Free last night for the second time, and it amazes me how genuinely down to earth you are. May God continue to keep and Bless you!

Amen sista - true KID IS OVER THE TOP, he did not have to feel sorry for those that could not make the show, not his problem but you know what-- Being the GREAT careing guy he is - he did and offered their money back to anyone asking for it. That is a genuine artist who cares about his fans and what they think and a good hearted man for even offering such a thing. Bobby is so amazing. We can only hope and pray that he has a wonderful life in return for all that he does for his fellow brothers and sista's. Love you Bobby and Happy Valentines Day . *STAR*

Momma Rock sounds like one smart lady! And, I agree, refunding the money is way above and beyond the call of duty, and if you had cancelled you would have still heard from the whinny asses!

Bob, Momma Rock sounds lovely. It is clear your Momma & Daddy raised you well. I love that she has such a special memory with her love. I'm sure they love each other v. much and are proud of all their children & grandchildren in the same measure. Question off the topic, in the video to Welcome 2 the Party, is the cutie little boy called Joe C really Robert James Jr? The timeframe seems right and to me, he's the spitting image of your younger son, who's name I don't seem to know. (Get ready for an inappropriate share.) That song & vid reminds me of my break dancing days (see.) when I got my stupid picture on the front page of our dumb newspaper wearing a black tracksuit, which fortunately did not involve parachute pants. Reminds me of Beat Street Breakdown or some such. How embarassing is that? I know you are a good father & I admire you for that. My favorite pick of your younger son is in one of your vids where he's on stage in an American flag thing looking at the camera. I can barely resist his chubby cheeks! Thank you for sharing a special note from Momma. Peace, Love, & Momma Rock
